Falling in the Denny Trap

So, I have been trying to get a date with this libra girl who is the younger sister of a family that my family knew as an acquaintance growing up. She is adorable, but I can't figure out what the deal is. My parent's ran in to her with her parents at a wedding recently and they said she was single so I decided to pursue.

I sent her an email and got reacquainted, and we started emailing back and forth. I asked her if I could take her out to dinner and she said "sounds GREAT!" so I am thinking it's on. She says maybe Saturday or Sunday, so I ask her about Saturday night and of course I never hear back....awesome. haha, but no big deal, I obviously didn't have a firm commitment or a phone number yet. Week goes by, and she sends me an email, blah blah, sorry I didn't get back to you, I've been sick, how are you? Hope you are doing good.

So I send back a lighthearted message, etc. and she says we will talk next week...no talk. hahah.


Then I get a message, a while later, with the gist of sorry I haven't checked email...possibly lunch this weekend...been busy, throws in a couple compliments.

I send back Saturday lunch. No word...haha.

OK, no big deal week continues on, Friday I get an email... friend is coming in town she is upset, i have to bail on saturday, you probably will never speak to me again, please don't hate me, finally gives me her number, she throws in a couple jokes between us. no biggie.

I send back, not a problem, compliment her on being a good friend, tell her to let her friend know that someone else will be out there for her without drama, etc. keeping it light hearted.. now i'm thinkin ok she sent me her number, she's interested.

i wait to call her after the weekend on a Tuesday at lunch, no answer, don't leave a message, i call her after work, leave a message says hey it's crab711, hit me back. nothing. haha, cool no big deal.

Thursday i get an email, i took tuesday off, any big plans this weekend,i'm sure you are busy...

i call her at lunch, no answer, but she texts back at work! what's up? i text her back wanna go out tonight? she says let me text you when i go on break...no answer.

so last night i sent back an email explaining that i was relatively free for the weekend, because of a couple of friends bailing on plans.. feel free to insert yourself in to my plans haha...

And now we are here...

What do you guys think? Is there interest there, or are we just playing this weird cat and mouse g

She is young. I don't think she knows how to tell nicely, thanks but no thanks.

The thing is every time I pull away, here she comes with the little cutesy, What are you plans etc. messages? What's the point if you aren't interested?

Cooking class is definitely a possibility...nice call. It's really quite scary how character traits of your horoscope can be so in tune, but I have worked hard over the years through different relationships to get rid of some of the negative traits.

Thanks for the opinions, in the past I probably would have handled this like a traditional crab, but it's been somewhat comical with the give up, and here she comes poking around.

She is just being friendly. She probably likes you as a person and wants to stay friendly with you, but doesn't want to get naked with you. She is hoping you forget your romantic interest.

I think little sparrow has dealt with cancers before...haha.

Oh no, I've read that before leo...I was just saying the way to get a cancer to kick over to friend mode is be blunt, that's what I meant by dealing with cancers.
