YattaYatta,

You know, I find it really interesting that as I pass through my years, my personality changes quite a bit. I was a typical Libra until about the age of 30, then moved into Scorpio for about 7yrs, now Im more Taurus. All these signs have influences in my chart. As for the extravagant taste, well ya, Im guilty. I dont spend money on things like that. But when something catches my eye while Im shopping, It always winds up to be the most expensive item on the rack..LOL I have a gift of making less expensive things look expensive. I do spend money on my hair, face products and makeup. Those things are important to me, especially the older I get.
Im definatly guilty of loving baubles, but that is with a few of the signs. As far as constant attention, I outgrew that years ago. I love my "me" time, I find myself avoiding phone calls and functions.
People just seem to gravitate to Libra's, maybe do too their compassionate nature and understanding. After a few days of company, I need to retire alone to regenerate. I dont know if anyone else goes through this. That is why I like social events, things are more superficial and I dont get emotionally drained.
As far as liking expensive gifts, I buy what I want for myself, Im high maintanance in certain areas, but Im the upkeeper..LOL I'd rather get a gift where thought was involved. My children for instance, even though they are grown, Id rather them make me something, then spend their hard earned money on me. It is truely the thought that counts.

still wondering what word is "b_lah"? LOL....now Im just curious...

I am very much that way I am afraid. I wasn't when I was younger. The older I got, the more I embraced the stereotype. I have heard this is a sign you grown into. I believe I have. Plus I have 5 planets in Libra. There is no escape. lol!

Things must be pretty. I don't like that side of myself but I have come to embrace that I am this way. Even though I don't have much money at the moment, my home is filled with art and soft furnishings. My favorite is my satin red duvet cover and the Hundertwasser print above my television. Screw the sentiment. If there was ever a fire I would leave the photo albums and take the print. LOL!

I love beautiful clothing especially clothing that has just a touch of flare and art, elegant meals, well mannered polite people, and interesting conversation.

I am known to steal the show on occasion and don't like being upstaged.

So yes. There are some. The negatives of our sign are embodied in me. 😢

"I love my "me" time, I find myself avoiding phone calls and functions."

I do this too. I went overboard last week for my birthday so I am in hiding. I can only do a couple of days at a time, then I need to regroup. I get drained and crabby if I over do.

This regrouping is coming at a good time for me though as my place needs a good grooming. I did a big declutter last night and plan to spend most of the week decluttering. Right now the entire contents of my closet are spread about on my livingroom floor.

Sunshine, hey!
When I typed B_lah it came out as "!"
Ok Ok, maybe I have a teensy bit of these traits, I do fuss over my home, my Japanese porcelain, my art deco lamps and yes ........ my bright pink couch and chair. But these purchases are rare, and out of necessity have stopped altogether since I no longer have much space.
I spend maybe $ 500/year in total on hair, makeup, clothes, shoes. I just wear the same old cargos and tees over and over till they are worn out, and my shoes get tossed when the soles have holes. I admire the workmanship on fine clothes, and the fabrics etc, I just can't justify them. I used to buy the odd piece on sale when I was younger, but I think that was just me trying to find a personal style . Now I have found it and its called "punk schlump" hehe.
I am not comfortable at all in places that I think of as "out of my league"....restaurants, expensive shops, etc... I want to leave or hide under a table. A "black tie" occassion would kill me! I've been to a couple of those and I lurked and hid in the background, feeling really daft all dressed up. Beaches and nightclubs are also nightmare venues for me. I was just curious to see if I was a real oddball Libra.

Hey Yatta,

I can relate to not being able to justify certain purchases, thats why I look for treasure in the clearance sections.LOL Now as far as feeling comfortable, I feel comfortable where ever I am. I am a true camillian, in the hood where I grew up or at a five star restraunt. I can dress up or down, never enough closet space..LOL I can cuss like a sailor sometimes and other times be emily post. I love it all, depends on my mood. You mentioned shoes..lol Now there is where I have a problem, I love shoes, have somewhere in the neighborhood of 125 pairs. I have to accessorize, shoes, purses, belts, jewelry. The rest of the outfit, not so important. God, I am sounding like a typical libra...LMAO

HAHA so I really am an oddball!
"thats why I look for treasure in the clearance sections" --I have no patience for browsing
"I can dress up or down, never enough closet space." -- you would die if you saw mine, it's teeny
" I can cuss like a sailor sometimes and other times be emily post" -- ok that I can relate to, and even if i am cussin', I can't stand bad table manners.
I have 10 pair of shoes including 1 pair of winter boots, 3 pair of snow clogs, 3 pair of sandals, 2 pairs of runners (pride and joy are my Chuck Jones All Stars), and one pair of heels for when I am forced to dress up.

It was funny when I went on my summer vacation, spent 10 days away and only took one small (11" x 14") carry on bag, but I had all I needed in there. My friends asked me "where is your suitcase?" I would point at the bag and they would gasp, "that's not possible!"

YattaYatta,

LOL...I go to Thailand every year on vacation, I take 2 huge suitcases. I only pack a couple of pairs of shorts and hair products, the rest of the suitcases are empty. But when I come home, Im luck to get both zipped up. I shop till I drop over there, everything is soooo cheap.

You try to deny your Libra nature but it is there before us all Sunshine. lol!

I don't think you are an odd-ball yatta. I was very like you for many, many years. I bought a lot second hand stuff. I still do not have a lot of shoes. I now, however, wish I did. Just don't have the money for it. If I had the money, most of my clothes would be original one of a kinds. hmmmm ... pretty clothes.

*happy sigh*

I definetly experienced a shift at some point.

I am happy where ever. I use to be intimidated by wealthy people as I grew up very poor. It wasn't until I started dating a wealthier man that I grew comfortable with other people's wealth and realized I fit in there as well. This was especially hard for me as I do not have a lot of money of my own.

Now, I would am more comfortable in an upscale restaurant than a bowling alley.

I am a light packer though and I don't spend a lot on hair, make-up. I think Sunshine is more typical in that respect.
