Help tapping into my intuition

Can someone help me tap into my intuition? I truly believe that I have abilities but I spent most of my life brushing it off as coincidence. I'm ready to explore that part of myself but I don't know where to begin.

When I was a teenager I purchased a deck of tarot cards and gave one reading to a friend. I just flipped the cards and looked up the meanings of each as I went. I don't remember exact details but her near future was death. 2 nights later, her boyfriend and father of her baby was hit by a train and killed. I never touched tarot cards again.

Maybe it was coincidence but I was freaked out.

Curse? How so?

I took it as coincidence or a very accurate foretelling of what was about to occur. I have zero experience with tarot cards and that was my first and only attempt.

Or are you just mocking my previous post from last month?

actually, I was thinking about myself when I read that.

i was going to write something about something personal about what i did in creative works but i stopped doing it because it brought bad luck to others.

so your post reminded me about that. you look into the future, and something happens. kind of like a "medium" who channels.

but it's not like you want bad things to happen to others.

We are a lot alike. I made a post last month about inadvertently cursing someone. I don't know if I do that or it is all just coincidence. I'm trying to learn more about myself and realize the stuff I always tried to avoid.

Everyone has latent "abilities". The key to tuning in to your intuition is to learn the difference between your ego and higher self (or guardian angel/Spirit/whatever you want to call it).

Your ego will almost always be negative. For instance, if you ever think you can't do something, that's your ego.

Your higher self is always motivating, encouraging and loving. I know how this sounds and I used to ignore this type of shit when people told me but I've been doing nothing but introspection all Summer.

It really is that simple, to be honest. Study the meaning of "intuition". Truly study it. You'll come to understand eventually.

You cab start by saying nothing is a coincidence .... That coincidence is your intuition .... There are no coincidences..... So that would be a good start ... And start believing what you sense and feel.... Intuitive people are observant of everything .... Pay attention to everything you... Listen to yourself when something is not right... Trust yourself ..

Thank you for all the replies. I really am taking them to heart. Lately I have been getting these overwhelming feelings. They are hard to explain but they come out of nowhere. It concerns my ex and it almost feels as if he is in pain and needs me. It has been happening over the past few days and at strange times. it has never happened when I was already thinking of him or dwelling on our relationship. I have been working or out with friends having a great time and this feeling comes over me, deep in my gut. I haven't mentioned it to anyone and we are in total no contact, by his doing, not mine.

My ex and I have been broken up and we have been total no contact for weeks but I always believed (and still do) that he is my TF.
