I have been very curiose about the practice and have been reading up on the subject, but I can't really find many people who no much about it,and I can't seem to find any buddhist temples in my area, they seem to be very hard to find.It just would be nice to find someone who has an interest in the subject, that can communicate some information to me.
Is anyone into Buddhism

I am not one but have went to some budist things, they seem to be a very at peace people who medatate a lot the deal I went to was on medatation.

Yeah, I heard Buddhism is great and peaceful but have never had the opportunity to experience it! I myself would like to learn more about meditation. All I know is that once into Buddhism, you leave all violence behind and have love for your most bitter enemies... Are you willing to do that, Mystical1?
i followed one buddist teaching and it changed my WHOLE LIFE it was this:
"The Purpose Of Life Is Happiness, Without It Life Has No Purpose" - regarding the meaning of life *I was looking for it at a time of major stress*

Sorry that I have'nt goten back to cannemma, but I am pretty much already like that.I would just like to experiance that on a higher level with more understanding.
We need to give thanks to Sidhartha for sitting under the Bodhi tree becoming "the enlightened one" Budda.

Just found this topic. I'm also a Buddhist.
I am too born into buddhism. theravada buddhism to be more specific.
buddhism is about enlightenment, about making peace amongst oneself and others. If you want to become a monk, you must give up living like others. for example, you have to let go of hatred (that means, you can't hate your enemies), you can't kill, you can't eat past certain hours, you must meditate, you must be bald and shave your eyebrows (eliminates beauty especiall for the females when they want to be 'mae chi' which I totally forgot how to say it in english.. similar to being nuns.. except you must also shave your head for the first time and shave your eyebrows-defines beauty)... can't to go the movies, can't go to parties, can't socialize how u used to, just bring peace to oneself. and when people want peace of mind, they go to temples or pray or meditate....
i can go on and on and on.. but let me find a link to help you out... there are two kinds of buddhism... theravada.. and i forgot the other one.. both of different teachings and style s.

oh, and no, you don't have to shave your head if you decide to become a buddhist.. lol... you just practice and BELIEVE and you'll be one. i guess.
keep in mind, the mind is a powerful tool.
and to add.. there are more to buddhism itself..
if you believe and want to go deep.. magic is involved.. and much more.

oh again, a female can't touch a guy monk nor can he touch them. and when the monks are done chanting, a female must kneel down and pray when they walk/pass by the female.
if anyone is interested, you all are more than welcome to go to any of these temples and observed. But you don't have to practice bc it's not required. the temples welcome all people from different background and religion. WARNING: JUST DON'T TRY TO CONVERT THEM INTO YOUR RELIGION when you're there or put down their religion lol.

just type the key words into the search engine like google or something: buddhist temple in usa (or your location), wat temple, wat buddhist temple in (your location), etc.
or go to yahoo yellow page and type in temple or wat or buddhist...

Curious as to what people think about this:
I am an ordained minister, have performed marriages, yet, I don't believe in God, nor do I mention God anywhere in the ceremony. Legally, these two people are married . . but, since I don't believe in

BLESS YOU ALL THIS MORNING!
What about people living in remote parts of the world, like an island in the Pacific, or something; and they've never even heard of God. They have absolutely no clue that there might be a higher power out there.

In the last chapter, it talks about a wheel, or chariot (meaning vessel) of fire in the sky. What does that mean?
An alien vessel? The sun falling?

Was it Isaac who had 300 wives and 700 concubines? Can't remember his name exactly, but, I remember hearing that this man was favored by God. God loved him so much for his faith and servitude, that the man was blessed and talked directly to the diety.
