I used to collect bottle caps! I'm not sure why I stopped. I had amassed a pretty good little collection. 😛 Now what kind of papers...like, other people's documents or what? I'm curious. It sounds interesting. Porcelain dolls, I like those, I have a few, but no place to display them really so they're in their cases in my closet. Books are always great to collect.

LG, it's so weird ... I've always really WANTED to start a stamp collection, but just never got around to it, but one of these days I will. Do you collect the old historic ones? I find those to be really interesting to look at. Also the foreign ones, like from the far east and whatnot. I love collecting things for the simple fact that I like to have little groups of like items all around me. lol. "here are my seashells", "here are my polished rocks aka gemstones" etc. 😛 The old funky records thing sounds cool. Sometimes at garage sales I want to buy a record just for the jacket it comes in, so I can frame it and hang it on a wall. I'm weird. lol. I understand about the little bits of writing, totally...what I do is I end up with five thousand post-it notes all over my desk with little sayings I hear people say and want to remember, or the name of a song I heard on the radio and want to remember, or just anything...sometimes I'll be organizing my desk and I'll be looking through these things going, "what the hell does that even SAY?" lol. I do have moderate packrat tendencies. But I'm also fairly organized so it keeps it under control a bit. 😛

Thanks you two for sharing!

Well, just papers I find lying around, everything from library reciets to rock concert flyers. Once I found a warrantee for a snowboard.

I'm just like you when it comes to the old records thing, sometimes I just want to buy it for the jacket it comes in and hang it on the wall.

Oh, I forgot in my earlier post but I also collect photos of nature, landscape, buildings, and foreigne places.

I bet whoever bought that snowboard is kicking theirself in the ass...lol, anyway, that's the most eclectic collection I've ever heard of, so rock on! 😛 I don't have a collection of nature photos or foreign places, but I definitely like to look at them in books and magazines. Someday I might make a collage of all the pretty pictures I've seen in magazines (this reminds me: I have an unbelievably large "collection" of magazines, and I HATE it. It seems like as soon as I throw some out, more come in, and it's a neverending cycle, and then I have twelve thousand magazines that I don't even read anymore. Catalogs I like to keep, though, for the decorating ideas in them.)

Morgan, can I borrow a pen? 🙂 I always envied the people with the really cool pens. lol...

Lol, no, but Themselves is. Too bad we don't have an edit link on this board, I keep having to re-read my post to make sure I didn't misspell anything. And then when I do I can't fix it.

You can do tons of things with those old magazines of yours, I'd love to have a large collection of mags. for all the great crafts and projects I could do with them. Collages are a great idea for them. You could send them to your relatives with no return address and get rid of them that way. Cruel, I know, but at least you wont have to deal with them.

Yes, I too wish we had editing/spell-checking capabilities, but I think it costs like a hundred dollars every month or something insane like that, which is why we don't have these abilities.

Ha, that idea about sending the old magazines to family members CRACKS ME UP, that's the most mischievous thing to do ever, I wish I'd thought of it. lol! Of course, I probably won't do that, instead I'll do what I do every month and go through each of them meticulously trying to decide which to keep/throw away. I'd love to start a collection of the Altoids ads...they're so artistically done, I love them. I would, if I had frames to put them in.
