Good job security - people are always dying.
And hey, if you make some silly mistake how much damage can you do? the person is dead already.
Lol! I was thinking more about how peaceful my work environment will be like. I can put music on, sing out loud and my clieny won't mind at all.click to expand

Absolutely. No money in being a good person and generally trying to make the world a better place.
A lifetime of nasty pluto transits has (finally) taught me that making money is all that matters.click to expand

Gross first and last on that list wc! Does it say their income?

Man I would have done dog food tasting for free when I was a kid. I was always stealing my dog's food.

eww lol. When I used to waitress, my boss at the restaurant had a poodle that she used to let lick her mouth & that was gross. I like pets, but dont love them like that.
Yeah I'm not into my dogs licking me either... I let one of my cats lick my hand and that's it. Sand paper tongue, I think it's a great exfoliatorclick to expand

hahaha. Phv, what does it mean when guy do that, bite bottom lip? Licking their own lips (ll cool j like) when conversating? One that annoys me most is when they hold your hand & scratches it(the palm) with the index finger. Wtf? I've noticed that most guys like to do that & i find it irritating lol.click to expand

Bite bottom lip = Lusting you
Licking lips at you = Lusting you
Licking lips constantly = Gay or needs some lip moistener
Scratches the palm of your hands = *Shruggs*
Just my opinion though.click to expand

oh, come on salon hair washer..its not that weird lol.
Glassblower is an interesting one. Talking of glass, those who make glass artificial eyes also made a list & so did a pet detective lol. Apparently, when your pet is lost you call one of them to track it for you. Weird

To be fair, being a sommelier isn't "just to match up wines and food". It does require quite a lot of knowledge as well as the physical ability to notice the subtle differences.
Also, finding vulnerabilities in computer systems isn't exactly a small thing. It requires both creativity and technical knowledge, which can be quite rare as both sides of the brain are needed extensively.

you're right, but that's basically what it is. Eg. being a cop doesnt = only arresting people, there's a lot that goes into it just like any other job, but arresting people is what they do.
Nah, some imo lounge around all day, in a sense hah.😄click to expand

"some" is the operative word. You dont think lip licking is weird & reptilian like?
lol@operative word hooo!
Not really, if they're slathering all over themselves, maybe, but people like their lips if their dry or if they see or think of something nice.click to expand

Nem, I would love to be a mortician too if I wasnt too scared. It sounds VERY interesting. When I was still in school a friend's uncle was one & he'd tell stories about how they'd have to glue the eyes and lips to keep them closed for open casket funeral and stuff.
lol - why would a dead person scare you? 😄 fear the relatives if anything!!!
yes, but what you described are gory but practical aspects of dealing with a corpse; sometimes necessary depending on the state of the body etc.
my approach to this profession would be a bit different. i suppose i'm looking for answers, like "where is this person gone to?"
but i also have a strong stomach 😛 so i'm not easily fazed.click to expand

This may sound really weird, but the reason I love South Africa is that it's like all aspects of human life in one place. There's so much beauty and so much horrid stuff. If you want the beauty, you have to accept the ugly stuff as well, and when you do that, you have to accept what being a human is like.

Posted by NemesisPosted by WaterCup
And I loved telling it, not gonna lie. But yeah, its our reality.
sad, but true.
what about birth control in SA? is it affordable? the men in the south african society are a huge problem. the weight is carried by african mamas. respect for them and still, they are treated like scum.
is it true, that some men think that having sex with a virgin will cure aids? hence all the child rapes etc.?click to expand

WC, maybe i hated gonubie so much because of the terrible school uniform colour. yikes. electric blue mixed with yellow.....just really off for me. but i was mainly homesick for port elizabeth - did not want to diss your hometown!

😢 very sad WC. I know about images that can't leave your mind.

Posted by ninjafish
That's so, so sad WC 😢 The world can be such a brutal place. I don't know what to think about any of it, but I commend those who take the babies when their mothers can't or won't look after them. I don't want to judge a lot of those women too harshly because some of their circumstances must be pretty dire... But geez, those poor babies. Having to die because you're an inconvenience. It's just heartbreaking.
