i saw this on Netflix and it looks very interesting.

four guys (two are along for camera footage reasons but they are going to be experiencing it anyway) are on their way to Guatemala.

two months there to live on one dollar a day.

They took ACTION to really find out what it's like. I think that's awfully brave. Very 9th house, Sagittarian values (Since saturn in Sag is coming back)

and maybe some Earthy values (for being so frugal, due to the economic reasons)

these guys seem very ambitious to find out, as theyve lived in the FAST paced world, where you get burgers and eat out of a vending machine.

if you see, they sleep ON the floor.

my husband's relatives have lived in India, for awhile, and also traveled there, and had slept on the floors when they rented some housing in the mountains. They had to bathe with barrels and there is NO hot water

too many farmers wanted their time, the narrator says, meaning they really NEED the manpower for help to grow vegetables, food.

if you watch some of the blogs on YouTube,

these guys are STARVING after awhile. 😢

they realize the "CHRONIC" starvation which means they are malnourished.

after awhile you think, gosh they cray cray. they are really adamant too. they have no fear. They even are DETERMINED to make it 1 dollar a day. They didnt cheat on their 1 dollar a da either. that's fucking awesome. but also cray cray.

they passed by some markets that were selling fried chicken and i know lots of people would be saying, FUCK That, i'm gonna eat some fried chicken.

but they REFUSED and starved some more and ate tortillas and made different types of food in their daily nutritional intake.

the guatamalans eat only maybe if they're Lucky a 3rd of the pyramid scheme and many babies are malnourished.

I think it's a...I wouldn't say brave, but...um,...let's see.

Maybe selfless thing to want to experience life as someone less fortunate. One of my favorite books is, "Black Like Me" where a white man wears black face and basically lives as a black man in the EXTREMELY racist south. I can imagine these 4 guys suffering a lot like the guy in that book did. He even cried and almost broke to the point of going back to being white, but had to convince himself to finish the journey. I think what's brave is being stuck in that condition without the option of quitting and either making more of yourself than your material resources allow or enlightening people with an infectious character so that they can experience your oppression, walking away with a better understanding as well as some initiative to do something to counteract oppression.

I'm interesting in seeing this documentary though, so thanks for sharing.

I'd love a challenge like that I think it's a great insight on how ppl do survive on basically the bear minimum but share everything I did enjoy watching it
i couldnt take it.

to be honest, i think it's brave and stuff but i need to have GOOD FOOD and indulge in the food.

to eat those beans daily with ...omg....

i do feel for the poor though. it's sad. I"m glad we have social workers and people who go there to help.
