i don't know about the beatles, they didn't move me... cuz to me they were yesterday's backstreetboys. then again their music did get better when they started to dress like hippies.
How about top 5? 1) Rolling Stones (even though they are turning me off big time these days!) 2) Pink Floyd 3) Led Zep 4) Dire Straits 5) Neil Young (CSNY)
But then there's CCR, Santana, Steely Dan, AC/DC. I think every one of my favorite songs is a masterpiece when I hear / play it. Does anybody else dig the White Stripes like I do right now— What range!
I think the members of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are demigods in their own rights, and they completely mastered the sounds of rock and roll. The third on my list, which is like the celery on a fancy Italian dish in comparison, would have to be Black Sabbath. Black Sabbath is by no means a personal favorite, they just mastered the art. I kinda like 'em. CCR, Bad Company, the Scorions and Rush-- all of which came later-- are higher on the list of bands I listen to most often.
Can't even pick a Zep favorite. Grew up ignoring them b/c Mick Jagger was much more exciting to me as a 12-year old (I started listening/escaping into music as a fifth grader). Robt Plant grossed me out a bit. I never liked him for some reason. HOWEVER...My last boyfriend (a most excellent Capricorn drummer & engineer)said that he just "knew" growing up that LZ was "IT" for him (even though he loves everything from funk to country), and I wonder why I have always liked them & their music but never really was more devoted than watching The Song Remains the Same & listening to the 4-disc set. I absolutely am amazed by their talent and agree that they are demi-gods. However again, the Final Cut by PF may go down in history as my favorite all-time listening album. Ahhh...if this could only be a job for me...playing my favorite songs for my favorite people! (Don't think DJs actually get to do this). Love "Long as I can See the Light" by CCR; Learned how to love "Rock You Like a Hurricane" by the Scorps after a few years, and listened to Subdivisions (Signals?) by Rush as a youngster. It has to have a "kick" in my opinion...something different to catch my attention. Also loving the whole Bluegrass thing currently. And then there's so much more.
By the way, I heard "WarPigs" the other night and was floored by how young Ozzie sounded!

What are your favorite songs that sort of define your teenage years? Sometimes I hear something on the radio and I think, "oh my gosh, I remember exactly what was going on in my life and how old I was when that was popular". But I definitely have favori

is anyone else out there obsessed with music from this decade? I think it's one of the best decades in music history. And I love disco. I also love all the folk songs, like anything by james taylor, carole king, carly simon, the list goes on.

I really like most of their stuff, but I have like three or four or five very favorite songs that I am very partial to. Their voices are beautiful...did you know they were born either on the same day or one day apart? And they're both scorpios, which is
I heard this on some commercial for a car--then I looked it up and found out it's been done by a bunch of singers. Rod Stewart being one of them (dork alert, but it's still a kickass song)!
So, I'm obsessed with this new song they have out called "Seven Nation Army" or something like that. But I can't find the lyrics to it anywhere, not even on the band's website. Can someone help me out? I'd really like to know what the guy is saying. I
Here's a good one (and good cover songs are rare): "We Can Work It Out" sung by Heather Nova. Originally by The Beatles of course. It's nice, download it if you can.
