what's shibby mean?
I can't stand the Donnas. I don't know why, just something about their sound. And I feel like I've heard them a thousand times before in other bands. And, the only song I've ever heard of theirs is "Take It Off", which gets played on the radio a million times a day, and really annoys me. I don't like the lead singer's voice at all, either.

And these lyrics *shudder*, so overdone/not thoughtful:
"come on and take it off! you gotta take it off, baby, for me. come on and shake it off! cuz I get what I want and I like what I see! Break me off, you gotta break me off baby"
*vomit*

i think they will evole to be a symbol of mass femine in rock and other parts of music. t hey are the only real know female rock band out there and the only female group outhere recoriding and singing right now.
no. they're... just no.
they are the only known female rock band out there?
The whole problem, actually, in my opinion, is that the young people of today have no understanding or appreciation of the fact that new music is just recycled music. There is very little true originality out there anymore.
Maybe the Donnas will evolve, but they're bugging me right now.
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts--now that was a real female rock band.

Hmm. Wilson Picket? Ahh.. Bangles? Errr... Indigo Girls..
I never liked Wilson Phillips, the Indigo Girls had maybe one song I liked, and the Bangles were popular when I was about five years old, so I couldn't really get into them as a true music fan would. lol.
Well, Ok.. I can say I liked Joan Jett's "Cherry Bomb".. for all it's connotations. (that and the Chh~chh~ stuff.)
ahem...don't tell me you don't like "I Love Rock & Roll", or perhaps her weird, rocked out version of "Crimson & Clover".
Oh I do. S'just Cherry Bomb kinda lets your mind run abit wilder. I've heard the first two all the time.. C.B. just has more punch.
you KNOW we're going to get laughed at tomorrow for all this post here, eh?
Nah, not at all.
(watch, now Luz will laugh on purpose) lol
Don't worry about it, that's what the boards are here for, conversation, which is what we're having. Have no fear, Phoenix is here 🙂

BTW.. Ann Wilson of Heart was a hottie. Now has a little kiddo.. Many hearts broken that day. Sigh.
I get them mixed up all the time, is Ann the um....smaller of the two?
They were both actually beautiful at different times in their careers.

Ann.. the simmery shimmery Brunette (in~case~of~nuclear~war~I~would~kill~all~men~within~5mile~radius~to~have~her) Wilson. And her sister, the BlondeBOmbShell. Course.. these are just.. my opinions. 🙂
You prefer brunettes, I take it?
No, being "me".. I just like them breathing and non moldy. Why do you ask?
LOL, that was sooo not a Virgoan thing to say. *must recover from laughter*
What are ya, snooks?
what's snooks? I really can't tell you if I'm snooks or not until I find out what snooks means...
Erh uhm.. What's your hair color?
what does that have to do with snooks (whatever a snook is)?
lol
lol
Same as an espie, whatever That is.. (turnaboutfairplay)
Oh, I think I get it! Like, "what are ya, tootz?" sorta thing?? I'm blonde.
You don't "sound" blonde... (S'ok.. I married one.. I really do know what they sound like..) Uhm.. well "I did".
Well...my natural color is mostly light brown. Does that count?
You could be bald & albino, I'm beginning to think.. Wouldn't matter a dime. And yes, it was a compliment. We

Anyway, Espernaut, I just listened to "Cherry Bomb" for the very first time ever. Very cute.

Uhm.. It's not the most complex lyrically.. (at all, actually).. it's the beat/tempo.
I wasn't being sarcastic, I really do think it's cute. lol.
🙂 Mebbe I just like punk hair ... ?
do you really?
Err.. you know.. explosive hair.. bedroom hair.. garble..garble.. static...
LOL
😉 I see exactly what you mean.

I've never been in the punk element, actually. Never gonna 'mosh.. I wouldn't survive... But I'd like to see all the 'duds' and maxing out to the 9's the people do.
There aren't any "Big" clubs here. We don't get Foam or Soap bubbles dropping from the ceiling, girls in cages, etc.. I would be interested in seeing a hugely successful club.

I wouldn't survive either, and you know...I think the loud garish-ness of it all would annoy me. I too would like to see the crazy duds though. We don't have any real clubs here either. We have a gentlemen's club, but no one will ever tell me what that is.

What are your favorite songs that sort of define your teenage years? Sometimes I hear something on the radio and I think, "oh my gosh, I remember exactly what was going on in my life and how old I was when that was popular". But I definitely have favori

is anyone else out there obsessed with music from this decade? I think it's one of the best decades in music history. And I love disco. I also love all the folk songs, like anything by james taylor, carole king, carly simon, the list goes on.
radio stations just annoy me so much.
-they all have commercials on at the same time
-you only notice the radio noise when the commecials are on, never when the music is on
-the music is all repetitive-never anything new

I really like most of their stuff, but I have like three or four or five very favorite songs that I am very partial to. Their voices are beautiful...did you know they were born either on the same day or one day apart? And they're both scorpios, which is
I heard this on some commercial for a car--then I looked it up and found out it's been done by a bunch of singers. Rod Stewart being one of them (dork alert, but it's still a kickass song)!

So, I'm obsessed with this new song they have out called "Seven Nation Army" or something like that. But I can't find the lyrics to it anywhere, not even on the band's website. Can someone help me out? I'd really like to know what the guy is saying. I
I hope these show up...

Here's a good one (and good cover songs are rare): "We Can Work It Out" sung by Heather Nova. Originally by The Beatles of course. It's nice, download it if you can.

I hate all boybands, all of them with no exceptions and no particular songs which could even be considered "alright".
