So, I'm obsessed with this new song they have out called "Seven Nation Army" or something like that. But I can't find the lyrics to it anywhere, not even on the band's website. Can someone help me out? I'd really like to know what the guy is saying. It sort of sounds like, "and if I catch ya comin' round my way, I'm gonna give it to ya" or something. lol, I'm probably way off.

Seven Nation Army
I'm gonna fight them all, a seven nation army couldn't hold me back
They're gonna rip it off, taking their time right behind my back
And I'm talking to myself at night because I can't forget
Back and forth through my mind behind the cigarette
And the message coming from my eye, it say's leave it alone
Don't want to hear about it, every single woman's got a story to tell
Everyone knows about it, from the queen of england to the hounds of hell
And if I catch you coming back my way, I'm gonna serve it to you
And that ain't what you want to hear, but that's what I'll do
And the feeling coming from my bone, it says find a home
I'm goin' to Wichita, far from this opera forever more
I'm gonna work the straw, make the sweat drip out of every pore
And I'm bleedin', and I'm bleedin', and I'm bleedin' right before the Lord
All the words are gonna bleed from me and I will sing no more
And the stain's coming from my blood tell me go back home
I'm gonna fight them all, a seven nation army couldn't hold me back
They're gonna rip it off, taking their time right behind my back
And I'm talking to myself at night because I can't forget
Back and forth through my mind behind the cigarette

Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground
Dead leaves and the dirty ground
when I know you're not around
shiny tops and soda pops
when I hear your lips make a sound
Thirty notes in the mailbox
will tell you that I'm coming home
and I think I'm gonna stick around
for a while so you're not alone
If you can hear a piano fall
you can hear me coming down the hall
if I could just hear your pretty voice
I don't think I need to see at all
Soft hair and a velvet tongue
I want to give you what you give to me
and every breath that is in your lungs
is a tiny little gift to me
I didn't feel so bad till the sun went down
then I come home
no one to wrap my arms around
Well any man with a microphone
can tell you what he loves the most
and you know why you love at all
if you're thinking of the holy ghost

or maybe she was hitting on the jackbutter.
That's a cool story though, and I need to listen to that song cuz I've never heard it.

gracias, mr. singer guy 🙂
and i will have you know that earlier today i was reading the lyrics to that song. it's got to be a full moon
i can't seem to get the whole album, so i'm downloading 'we're going to be friends' presently.
consider it done (even though it isn't)
did you ever watch the rest of the ring?
I just listened to 'we are gonna be friends' and i really like it.
and i know that's not the title, but that's how he says it 🙂
it very much sounds like a beatles song, or something the beatles would have done. just thought i'd mention.
and i had a childhood friend like that, the song reminds me of him. his name was erik; i used to make him play hopscotch with me. 🙂 and he used to walk with me to and from school every day. we used to copy each other's work in class. erik sorenson; that was his name. he was my best friend from kindergarten through third grade, until he moved away. i think we had that puppy love thing going. ahh, childhood.

hey, the drummer is a girl! That's so cool 🙂
"little room" is funny, but a little odd for me.
I LOVE "Hotel Yorba"! What a great song, I'll be glad to see you later. lol 😛
"This Protector" is good also, it's kind of haunting and "scary-pretty"
thought I'd administer some CPR to this thread, since it up and died at 7:17:47 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2003.
So, what's everyone's favorite tracks from the new Elephant album?

There's No Home For You Here
There's no home for you here girl, go away
There's no home for you here
I'd like to think that all of this constant interaction
Is just the kind to make you drive yourself away
Each simple gesture done by me is counteracted
And leaves me standing here with nothing else to say
Completely baffled by a backward indication
That an inspired word will come across your tongue
Hands moving upward to propel the situation
Have simply halted
And now the conversation's done
There's no home for you here girl, go away
There's no home for you here
I'm only waiting for the proper time to tell you
That it's impossible to get along with you
It's hard to look you in the face when we are talking
So it helps to have a mirror in the room
I've not been really looking forward to the performance
But there's my cue and there's a question on your face
Fortunately I have come across an answer
Which is go away
And do not leave a trace
There's no home for you here girl, go away
There's no home for you here
Waking up for breakfast
Burning matches
Talking quietly
Breaking baubles
Throwing garbage
Drinking soda
Looking happy
Taking pictures
So completely stupid
Just go away
There's no home for you here girl, go away
There's no home for you here
There's No Home For You Here

Ball And Biscuit
It's quite possible that I'm your third man girl
But it's a fact that I'm the seventh son
And right now you could care less about me
But soon enough you will care, by the time I'm done
Let's have a ball and a biscuit sugar
And take our sweet little time about it
Let's have a ball and a biscuit sugar
And take our sweet little time about it
Tell everyone in the place just to get out
We'll get clean together
And I'll find a soapbox where I can shout it
Read it in the newspaper
Ask your girlfriends and see if they know
That my strength is ten fold woman
And I'll let you see if you want to before you go
It's quite possible that I'm your third man girl
But it's a fact that I'm the seventh son
It was the other two which made me your third
But it was my mother who made me the seventh son
And right now you could care less about me
But soon enough you will care by the time I'm done

pretty silly i am...i starting posting on this thread the other night and then i realized there isn't one single song on their new album i don't like. the only thing i don't like is the like twelve seconds of weird opera-like singing in the middle of "there's no home for you here"--and that guitar screeching kinda bothers me. But I really like the song lyrically. Musically I am most impressed with Ball and Biscuit. You know what song I don't quite understand? "The Hardest Button to Button". Can someone please explain the deeper meaning behind this song? Because I know there is one. I just can't figure out what it is. I like it though.
