For the last few months I have had this weird occurance. At first I was sleeping and I would wake up quick, my heart already racing, but I wasn't having a nightmare. Sometimes I would see a shadow by the foot of my bed, always to the right. I cannot move and cannot barely breath so I can't seem to wake up my husband. I don't know if it is from the terror or not.

More recently though this thing had moved to be sitting on the bed. The last two times it was on me, like, sitting on me but it didn't feel heavier than when it was not.

I am always terrified. It's the most scared I have ever, ever, ever been.

I told my husband about it the first night it happened, but he couldn't have been more disinterested. He doesn't believ in stuff like this and honestly I never really had either. I don't know what to do or who to tell or wwhat.

Writing this I feel lightheaded and afraid.

We have not moved into a new house, this house was only owned by one other person before me and we've lived here years with no problems. No new jobs, no mid life crises. Nothing new or diferent or strange. But this thing is real.

Please please please help.

I looked it up on Wikipedia "physiological or psychological circumstances, drug use or side effects of medication, and the interaction of external agents on the human body. Another reason that could be behind the illusion is sleep deprivation, which may lead to hallucinations.[11]"

I don't do drugs, even drink. I don't take medication and I sleep well other than when this stuff happens. There is so much crap on the internet, can you point me to a reputable site?

Yes, wikipedia only gives half the information i believe. Ive searched alot about these things so i personally dont believe it has to do with Any sleep deprivation or drugs.
I think its more spiritual or something is following. Hmm i have no reputable site per say but ive watched this video, it explains alot you can take alook and see if it helps though its fAirly long but i think it might help you in some way. Search "rosemary e guily djinn". When it comes to these things i lean more towards a spiritutal explanation than scientific. Its up to you to conclude.

I have never had this happen before, I have no undue stress in my life at the moment. If it was sleep paralysis, why has the shadow moved closer? Why did it start far away and then get closer? Sleep paralysis doesn't make sense. And believe me, I don't WANT to believe that this thing is some paranormal thing, I sound like a nutjob to myself, or at the very least someone trying to get attention.

I will watch that video thank you.

Yeah, as I've said, I feel like I can barely breath.

Sorry for the late replies, had to work.

Last night before bed my husband was laughing to himself as he came into the bedroom. He said he thought he saw someone in the house. He was shutting the windows and he said he thought he saw a person in the laundry room leading to the pantry. He didn't even want to tell me this much because "it was just my imagination" but I know it wasn't. I got itit out of him that it was an all black shadow, but the laundry room and pantry are very, very well lit and there are no windows or anything back there.

I couldn't sleep pretty much at all and I went out into the dining room and read like all night pretty much. I had to use the restroom and it's in out bedroom. When I went in I saw the cat on the corner of the bed in the moonligth, all his hackles up, hissing at the corner and it was so dark compared to the dining room that I couldn't see anything but the cat. I could feel that presense and the room was colder. I truned on the light and there was nothing there. What's weird is as soon as I turned on the light the room felt warmer and I didn't feel that fear anymore. The cat still seemed a little freaked out.

My husband has seen it too, so I know I'm not crazy. He doesn't believe in this stuff, so I'll have to find a way to tell him. I was thinking about saging the house like somone suggested. I have a coworker whose friend is a Wicca, so I am hoping she'll do it for me. Do I have to buy the stuff for her or will she already have it? I don't know ettiqit with this shit. But I'm getting rid of this thing.
