Nature can be bent some say....but at our place the laws of nature are totally ignored. It takes 3 weeks for incubation of chicks yet ours hatched after 5...go figure. We have a male goose (Harold) who will not do 'the wild thing' with his female partner but instead chooses to have sex with the male duck. Our Turkey is best mates with the peahey and they constantly travel up and down the street visiting all the neighbours. Our ringneck parrot, who occassionally escapes from the avairy flies up and down the street all day then returns home in the arvo. We have a brave cat who will wander our property amongst horses legs and attacking geese yet fears strangers. And then our other cat, is afraid to go outside during the day but will accept strangers into the home. The horses have no manners yet are gentle with the kids and the Border Collies will round up anything but are afraid of sheep.

Go figure!

P.S. Cortica- Dudley has had many many babies, there is not a black face amongst any of them...they're all his.

Sounds like a very happy and fine family to me!! and a great life, LG!!! Love it!

I love birds too.

I rented a house from a man once that raised geese, exotic chickens and alot of different ducks and he had a total of about 300 birds on 1-2 acres of property. It was heaven! I use to feed them for him. He even let them come in his kitchen.

We had a dog that was afaid of the cat and a cat the was freaked out by our parrot who was trained to say "here kitty" and would mess with it, and would also say "nice do" as in 'hairdo' when some walked by!
