Getting away from here

If you could just leave the ordinary of everyday, where would you want to be? What would be your ideal life? Would you go alone?

For me, it would be a cottage with lots of rustic furniture and open fires, by the sea, probably somewhere in Cornwall, uk. I have always felt happiest in the countryside and near the sea. It would most likely be alone, lots of cats and my writing to keep me occupied.

Both of you said the countryside. Interesting...

I can't say that I recall ever being in the countryside. I will say that most of my family members have houses on top of high mountains and it seems pretty isolated. There are lots of trees that you would never think that a home is up there unless you drive up there. They are surrounded by horses and chickens. Beautiful view when you're looking down.

I would live in the middle of a forest in a log cabin or something.
It would be beautiful and relaxing.
I would take my best friends, a source of music, with a pen and a notebook.
My life would be complete. (:

I cannot imagine not having access to the countryside.
I find the city so overwhelming, noisy, artificial and uncomfortable, personally, but sadly, I am stuck in a city for now.

Wow, umm, there are so many places 😛

But if I had to pick one, (and this is of course made up) it would be a palace on the ocean. With white marble columns and walls. Beautiful fountains that are complex in design. Glass panels that seperate some rooms. Large statues. A grand circular bedchamber with a 4-Post bed (with drapes) at the center. Above it would lie a opening that I could look out into the night sky. Large dinning hall. Everything white marble. With a touch of fabric and paintings in various areas. White sand on the beach. A nice palm tree or two. Gentle sea breezes. Pine trees around my abode. I must have a grand piano. Maybe a violin if I could get around to learning it lol. A library full of books. A large garden for me to produce my own food. Total isolation and peace. *Relaxed Sigh*

^That's what I believe my heaven is like 🙂

Of course I would need the occasional guest. Nobody uninvited though. Only those that I miss, care deeply for, and simply can't live without. I have a few people in mind 🙂

That DOES sound like heaven. Calgon, take me away!

I would live on a tropical island, inhabited with good looking, funny, intellectual females/males. We would swim and lounge discussing books, politics, arts, and whatever came to mind. We would dress for dinner, have after dinner cocktails, dance the night away, and couple up (with no fear of disease) for incredible sex. BLISS!

Whooooooo! WHAT.....A......FANTASY THAT IS! ! ! It's sounds like what heaven would be like. No worries at all.

I think about this a lot infact I want to make it a wish come true one day...I would roam Europe enjoying peace...harmony...and great food and cultures...just immerse myself and leave the other world behind me...I would be on my own because I feel less drained haha...

I actually just came back from an overseas holiday and it was only for a week but it changed me dramatically within that week...from emotionally drained sorrow to a refreshed happy and strong self...it actually strengthened my soul...I know what I want and don't want before I was lost haha well partly...

That's why we all need a vacatin from time to time. This world can be mundane yet hectic and yes, draining. I dislike feeling drained. So I guess that living in a place of your choice would be more ideal because it would be like a constant vacation. Being alone is great also because when you're with someone you have to give them a little attention and you wouldn't be able to dive into your mind without interuption. Just to be alone, go somewhere and exhale.

I would travel the world, on a spiritual and culinary mission. Very similar to Eat, Pray, Love. I would prefer to be alone. But would probably need a companion just in case I come up missin, someone would know where I last was. LOL. Im paranoid like that. 😉

What about a personal body gaurd. Someone that is seen but not heard from a distanace, LoL

Oh well. Monterey is beautiful but it is VERY touristy. There are secluded houses on the beach though.

I would move back to Manhattan, the way Manhattan used to be. Penthouse. I dont want to have to drive, so I will need a driver. Dont care what kind of vehicle it is,as long as he is there when I need to go somewhere. Big kitchen, love to cook. I would need a full bar in there with me; someone making the drinks, along side of me, dont want to have to ask for a refill. I dont want to have to go food shopping either, I will make the list, I want only organic produce. Nothing frozen. Fireplace in my master sweet and living area. I dont want to have to figure out complicated electronics. I want everything programmed especially designed for me, I want a system that I could just say; I want to watch such and such, or I want to hear so and so. I dont like to fly, I love country side traveling. My own tour bus. If i choose to go over seas, I want the fastest way to get there, whatever money can buy. while I am on that flight, I would like to sleep and be woken up NICELY when we are there. At that point I will definately need a hair and makeup person. If its cold make sure the car is heated. I may be hungry, so have something to nibble on, I will tell u what I am in the mood for when I am ready. My kids must also get all they need. I want a wine vineyard in France (they make the best wine)when I visit, which will be 6 months out of the year my staff comes with me...I can go for days...sorry, best thread ever😄

Ya know, I look at people's screen avatars and it feels like I am talking to the person that is pictured, even though I know that it might not actually be them. Whenever I see the picture of the redhead I feel like it's actually you that I see and that I'm talking to. LoL

love, love, LOVE this question...my ideal place would be by the sea. or even, a short walk from the ocean but the actual house would be by a river. the first thing you'd hear each morning is birdsong. since this is a fantasy, i'd have cats, tigers and wolves sharing my space 🙂...the house itself would be charming and cluttered, with lots of odd little trinkets and semi precious gems everywhere. and, people would die for the bathroom. it'd have some sort of waterfall shower thingy.

i'd spend all my time writing songs, playing guitar, swimming and doing yoga. rearing kittens 🙂 cooking. and i'd want people nearby, but have my own seperate little annexe. maybe like an attic room, with a huge aquarium, fireplace and telescope. and there'd be a concert hall, maybe in the basement, an intimate, smoggy room where me and my friends would put on shows...

damn, i really want this life!

Waterful shower? That is amazing. I kind of pictured the after life when you mentioned having tigers and wolves. I hear the music now.

For me, my ideal would be actually fulfilling all of my hopes and dreams. I'd like to be able to have the strength and the faith in myself that I have the ability to achieve my ambitions. That's the life I wish I could escape to and I wish I could live in. I'm so dormant and passive, it annoys me!
