Been reading up on this, and what caught my attention is that some men only appear to be commitment phobic in one relationship, yet will commit to another woman very soon after the relationship ends. So, there is a debate, is it really the woman that brings out the phobia in a man, or is there really such a thing as commitment phobia? Which can also apply to women, btw.
That is my problem... He is overly detached, and aloof...I can not get the past out of him...except that he does not stay friends with ex-lovers...never married, never engaged, never lived with anyone ...age 47!!.... never spends the night over at my place...it has been 9 months?!
Actually, now that I think of it, he tries to makeup for his lack of ability for commitment in a love relationships throughout his life, with being overly commited to his job, his education...2 masters degrees and a medical degree... he is practically married to his job....
What a shame, he is a very sexy Virgo with a lot of endurance.
Thank you peanuts...that is a nice thought... have been trying to do bring him out of his shell .... sometimes i am not sure if I am successful... we are together, dating, texting daily... his passion shows, not in texts, never e-mails, only in person...that's what i have read, commitment phobes will not communicate in writing, since that is somewhat of a commitment in writing, some only use pencil, so it can be erased, some can not buy a car or make a major purchase because it is a big commitment... anyways, it is the book I am reading, makes me question it all...p.s he has a 12 year old car, needs to get a new one, but keeps postponing.
For some time now you have been coming up with excuses as to why this man doesn't want you. You have even admitted on the Virgo board that you can't get him to acknowledge you the way you want him to no matter how much you throw yourself at him.
Now .... you find another excuse so you don't have to face the truth.
