Scorpio boy leaving Pisces girl confused

I'm new to dxp...anyway I am a Pisces female left emotionally distressed by a Scorpio male. He doesn't consider us as a couple even though he proclaimed several times the strong feelings and care he has for me. I'm not completely naive, of course, and have saved a large chunk of myself away, locked within the depths of my heart in case such a situation were to occur. But I am just wondering and bothered by this: why did he do such endearing tasks like picking me up from work, bringing me to the theater, and taking me home to chill and watch a movie if he didn't feel that close to me? I have no idea what he is feeling at all. And even though he has told me countless times I may ask anything of him and he will answer, it has left me pondering whether this was an act of endearment or he that truly does not care whether or not I know these things about him.

So far I am feeling myself emotionally distancing myself from this person. I'll also like to add to this post his tendency and seeming love of looking to the past, a trait that I scorn. This all doesn't sit well, especially after he hinted 2-3 times about a horrible past relationship of his.

Any answer and advice would be much appreciated, forum.

It was strange because he was the one that proclaimed his like for me first. And I WAS the skeptical one, the one that wasn't 'all the way' into the other, only because it was all so sudden for me. His persistence got to me, though, and I slowly began to open up to him. I invited him to my fourth of July BBQ and he was very helpful with everything, even assisting to wash the dishes and to tidy the food-stained floors (party, duhhh). I remember I teased him, saying "My mother thought you were a gentleman", but perhaps I shouldn't have? Anyway, he just quickly brushed it off: "I didn't do all that to impress your parents, that's just the way I am as a person"
