"Work hard and you'll be rewarded" is the biggest lie about capitalism. It's really "work hard so you don't starve to death." I guess personally, I don't have a problem with working as much as I do with everything coming down to money. Even college is more about meaningless paperwork and deadlines that is about education and expanding minds only because there's no way for big brother to make money off the former.

Could you imagine if Picasso or Michaelangelo were alive today? Would they have still realized all their creative potential in this much more complicated, expensive, money-driven, fast-paced world? I couldn't really see a Picasso with his house in foreclosure, sweating at two jobs, just to fall into bed to do it all over again next day. Or, where would his mindset be? Would his drive, passions have found a way, anyway, be the same? What would his art reflect on a today? Think of all the creative potentials lost and never nurtured or mentored properly. I've often wondered why there are no *extreme* artists anymore painting cathedral ceilings 12 hours a day. Tired, yet passions expressed to their very fullest, because time was their own and it wasn't about money, though their works now fetch a Kings ransom and thankfully are forever appreciated and still* enjoyed to this day. Those were creatively romantic, magical times..

Money doesn't come from working hatrd. It comes from experimenting and learning about the real world.

Of course if you study fianance, you can pretty much make it to the top of the corporate ladder real soon.

Capitalism has made things like experimenting and learning into luxuries.

Personally, I have no doubt that I'm capable of making millions of dollars... but it's prevented by this "having a soul" thing.
