so i won't go into details about what exactly happened between this scorpio man and me.. but things are pretty much already done. (basically he's blowing hot and cold, and i simply refuse to tolerate this even in the first instance of it). i had pulled our charts before and we have venus conjunct pluto as well as saturn square venus, which are placements that are supposedly strong and magnetic in synastry. my ascendant is also scorpio, which i thought was a good thing in synastry. but anyway... any explanation on why we have these supposedly strong placements but have already failed?

Are you the Venus person in both cases?

I can't speak much for the Saturn-Venus combo but with regards to the Pluto-Venus combo, the magnetism is off the charts. However, the Pluto person has the upper-hand often controlling the Venus person. Issues of obsession, control and power crop into the picture and are ultimately responsible for breaking you up.

Because you need more than synastry to make a relationship work. There are so many other factors that are at play here such as maturity level and past experience or the circumstances involved that affect the decisions people make. Level of commitment and expectations also play a role (e.g. at the smallest infraction are you *general you* giving up?). In other words, synastry attracts you to each other, but you both need to do the work to stay together.

Since you won't go into detail, that's all I can really offer. Sorry it didn't work out.

ooohhh forget to add...

just because you're INTO astrology, you believe..."OH i have this moon and this rising and this mars.....I'm GONNA GET ME that type of man!!"

hell no, missy! that's not gonna happen like that. *smh*

you're USING astrology way too much and it feels like you're only going after a CERTAIN type just because you have knowledge of astrology. If it ain't happening it AIN'T happening!!

Virgo women do not get Scorpio men, like Scorpio women who do get Virgo men. The better match of the two are Scorpio women and Virgo men. These two can communicate without talking. You don't mention what you think the causes are for the relationship breaking down, so it's hard to answer this.

thanks for the responses guys. in typical virgo fashion, i've since read up a lot about the synastic (is that a word?) relationship between these two planets. i do admit reserving bias in astrology, though i would never let it hinder me from forming bonds with another person based on their placements. and actually in this case, i had a bad experience with a scorpio in my past but still went for it. i didn't actually pull up his chart until after we ended so all i knew during and before was that he is a scorpio.

speaking of a bad history with a scorpio... since reading about the pluto/venus synastry, it actually reminded me A LOT of of my relationship with my scorp ex... which had begun wonderfully.. very intense and passionate, but also very dramatic with him always being jealous and paranoid about me talking to other men. it was very volatile as the description goes... and we were constantly breaking up and making up. however all that finally ended in resentment on both parties... i pulled my ex's chart as well and sure enough we had pluto/venus conjunct wherein i was the venus and he was the pluto (just like in this case).

another thing i read about the pluto/venus synastry connection is that it's karmic.. not sure exactly what that is supposed to imply as to me that very word is subjective... but i definitely admit to my share of immaturity with the ex.. they are mistakes that i hope i won't repeat again.

but.. one of the things i learned from my prior relationship is that it REALLY isn't over until the fat lady sings. i guess time will tell.

anyone care to share their experiences with pluto/venus synastry in relationships?
