Mixed feelings about my Cancer boyfriend.

This post is mostly about how I'm feeling right now, and is sort of just emotional word vomit.

Sun: Gemini
Moon: Aries
Venus: Taurus

Him-
Sun: Cancer
Moon: Leo
Venus: Gemini
Mars: Virgo

I don't often feel secure with my boyfriend. It's a really weird and difficult feeling to describe. But, I often times don't feel like he likes me all that much. Initially in our relationship he was very hesitant (cancer-esque), then sort of warmed up to me over time. I tried taking the initiative with him initially, but after getting rejected I sort of backed off. He's extremely mellow and spontaneous with plans while I'm more excitable and have to have steady routines throughout the day. He's not the best at communicating with me, like telling me what he's doing and when, or if plans change, which irks me at times. I value somewhat frequent (and varied) communication while he seems to not be bothered by the lack of it. I want to communicate about our daily lives.
I often feel like we don't operate on the same level either. Like, he's physically affectionate in public and tries to shower me with gifts/dates, which is nice, but I am more of a private person and would like the affection at home. He also likes paying for things (or going back and forth with who pays for both of us) while I tend to prefer taking responsibility and pay for my part. He's also not very sexually inclined towards me whatsoever, as if it's not a priority to him.

Does anyone have any experience with Gemini/Cancer relationships of this sort that could give me some reassurance or feedback? I'm not really sure if I have a question but I feel kind of lost in this relationship.

We're cancer/cancer. He is exactly like that (I pay for nothing & don't mind). I told mine Friday I feel disrespected when he is indirect or ignores my texts (never calls though- weird) and I can't accept it any longer. Haven't heard from him but he's been quiet on social media too so who knows. I wish I had an answer for you bc that would mean I have an answer for both of us.

Mine is weird because he ignores my texts when it's convenient for him, but the minute he sees that I haven't replied to his, he tends to respond more. Thrill of the chase, maybe?

Hmmm a lot of Geminis with cancers :-) I'm interested in a cancer man and I don't know what to think either.

Some men respond really well to being treated like shit or they respond well to a woman acting distant/rude. Masochism. It's weird but his placements point to that.

That actually makes a bit of sense. Within his group of friends he tends to get picked on the most (in a joking, friendly way) but I think at times he almost enjoys the negative attention.

Cancer suns are masochistic and add virgo mars, there you have it.

Hm,,For the first time, I am bit obsessed with a Cancer man,,, before I have thought them to be too clingy and too dependent.
All you say fits this one too - inconsistent in his communication,, but man a warm funny creature,, enigmatic! and problematic!
I'll try to treat him a little more like the other cancers I know,, Sadisticly,, and get my own thing going more,,, I will hate to loose him, but he is really impossible,,
So typically me, yawn!
Nothing to do but hope he´ll stay, when I play my own horn more,, the only right way!

Ironically enough, I have quite a few Cancer friends. Maybe it's because of other placements in my chart, I'm not sure.
