I've posted this a couple years ago to see what people thought, and now I post it again.
Over the past several years, I've joined many hands together in matrimony .. they are married. Yet, I don't belive in god, or should I say .. I don't beleive in the christian god, who is the Creator .. I believe in the real God, who is not the Creator god.
So, my question is .. since I'm an ordained minister within my congregation of believers in our fellowship .. but, I do NOT believe in your god .. do you think these people are married in your gods eyes?
A JP can marry people and he is just a government worker, and doesn't have to have any kind of ordainment with a religious sect .. yet, can marry people and these people live their whole lives thinking their marriage was sanctioned by god.
If I marry two people, and they live the remainder of their lives in matrimony, and they believe in the christian god themselves .... are they really married in their gods eyes? Or, are they living in the sin of adultry in their christian god's eyes?
If I marry two gay people, in which I obviously cannot make legal for them, yet, I am ordained as a minister of our faith in our god that we believe in .... even if it isn't made legal with society .. are they still married spiritaully? Will their marriage still be sanctioned by god, or are they adulterers?
The Rev M.P.Q says marrage is a man made idea. as most gods are. Of course he doesn't believe in SHABOOM so what can I say. I ask SHABOOM and he says marry them and let the other gods sort it out.
and since it's man made, what man has the right to say who can be married? gays can if they want i believe. its not a crime against god, only against men. but its not that either. the world of men is so incomprehensible...yet simple
"if marriage is man made, how is it a sin to have sex before marriage."
Because the concept of "sin" is also man-made. In other words, it is a belief that is ingrained into ones psyche through social conditioning over thousands and thousands of years.
P-Angel....
If you perform a marriage ceremony for Christian, Gay, or Pagen, or little green men from mars, your beliefs are in the right place because you are doing them the service of solidifying their bonds in a public manor.
The choice to use your services is theirs and your personal beliefs should not reflect theirs in the least. Legal is on paper...it doesn't matter when it comes from the HEART...and is true.
