Exorcisms vary across religions but are most associated with Christianity, especially Catholicism. While many believe they only work within Christian faith due to specific rituals and symbols, some cultures and religions perform similar rites claiming to expel evil spirits. Effectiveness often depends on faith, tradition, and belief in the ritual's power.

..If God 'did not' exist, then real life exorcisms should not work or be effective, either. As well, the Tools used: such as crosses, bibles and holy water, etc. I have a question, though ..would other religions performing this 'holy rite' work, as well too. Or does do demons & devils only respond to (Christian faith) exorcism. Or maybe, my guess ..it's 'ONLY' a rite of (The Roman Catholic Church)
..just got to thinking after watching this true life account in *A Haunting*, where this family was terrorized by an inhuman entity in this older 19th century house. Psychics could only do so much. But thankfully was successfuly 'exorcised' driven away, by a Catholic Priest. Real exorcisms can only be done on people, so they had to channel the entity through one of the family members. Simple exorcisms can also be done, such as blessing a house, inanimate object or person. But in this case a full/real exorcism was needed.
btw, The Exorcist (movie) is still one of the scariest, i've ever seen. Plus the film, *The Entity* (true life account) really creeped me out, too! The auditory sounds were as bad, if not more than the visual..
