One evening, an Elderly Cherokee Brave told his Grandson about a battle that goes on inside People.

He said "My Son, the Battle is between two 'Wolves' inside us all.

One is Evil.
It is Anger, Envy, Jealousy, Sorrow, Regret, Greed, Arrogance, Self-Pity, Guilt, Resentment, Inferiority, Lies, False Pride, Superiority, and Ego.

The Other is Good.
It is Joy, Peace, Love, Hope, Serenity, Humility, Kindness, Benevolence, Empathy, Generosity, Truth, Compassion, and Faith.

The Grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his GrandFather:
Which Wolf Wins?...

The Old Cherokee simply replied,

"The One That You Feed"

Did you know there is such a thing as righteous jealousy and righteous anger?
Just like there is false joy, and false peace, and false hope.
Wisdom discerns these things.

I am surprised you said red Whatu ...? A twist! Lol

White is good, it signifies purity and peace. The color of unconditional Love.
Since the White Wolf won then to me that is a Happy Ending to the battle.
The battle could have been something simple or something complex.
It could have been the only battle fought that day or the 20th battle fought that day.
The only thing that matters though is that the White Wolf won that battle in that moment in time.
One battle at a time.
One moment at a time.

red...

Now that we know the two colors, which of the two wolves is evil?

Whatu, why "red"?

In this case I was refering to the red wolf as the Indians ( the good wolf) and the white wold as the white invaders (the bad wolf) sadly the bad wolf won. which almost makes this proverb obsolete.

I certainly don't think the proverb is anywhere near obsolete.
Every bit as current as when it was conceived. But then, that's me.

However, the proverb describes the inner conflict and you thought to make a statement concerning two races with
the "white wolf" comment.

Raindancer comes in and follows YOUR lead, inserting "black", rather than answering the original post's original intent, which for the content, was to give valuable thought to ponder.

The plot thickens.
Now, Fixed is in a fix......, and Whatu should respond to her.

yet, what happens if
you feed both equally?
do they cancel each other
out, or consume one another?

Understand the concept of war and peace?
It's one or the other. The two cannot coexist.

IF you feed both equally, confusion consumes YOU.
And you have not learned.

Now the proverb asks which is more important to you?
True War or True Peace?

But if confused, how would you know whether to laugh
or cry when your baby dies?

war and peace coexists.
one just shows up at a
different time than the other.
there is time for war.
there is time for peace.
no confusion between the 2.
instincts take over. no man
is 100% peaceful. people hold
back the dark wolf until it is
time to unleash him.
well, at least in my case.

Tichi,
What happens when you mix pure white paint with black paint?
White is no longer pure white, nor is black any longer pure black. (same applies to any color - any artist can tell you this)

You get a shade of grey. The shade of fog and the shade of uncertainty and the shade of confusion.
You are either at peace or at war.
Again, the two cannot coexist.
There shall be separation.

You tend to lean toward the dark, as if seduced by it with reckless abandon.
If that is your heart's desire, it shall be granted to you.
Fair warning, you will NOT find happiness there.
