Here's an idea.... seriously......
If you have concerns of the bike falling over etc. you "might" consider a "Trike"
Yes, Harley has trikes (formerly known as "Servi-Car" and they have kits to convert
the two wheeled bikes to trikes. - this way, you could pick out a nice ride, that gets great fuel economy.
I like the Triumph Bonneville, but I'm not sure I WANT a trike. They don't hit the corners as fast.

Neither do bikes with side cars.
However, a trike could be rigged up to have a little box on it to carry small items like groceries,
supplies or similar.
