Back in my chef days I used to make pan roasted lamb chops with a rosemary and orange infused demiglace

Rabbit, cooking was never quite my forte. My interests were dominantly elsewhere in all things
mechanical, music or the visual arts, history, archeology, literature, especially, some Louis L'Amour, and..... the road.
As such, I am quite the uncouth hairy primate when it comes to cookin'. It's always touch and go and hit and miss.

I wish this forum could have far greater variety than the dizzying repetitions of the "Scorpio Man....." variety..... often posted by the same woman under a different name........
(Note: they are getting smarter.... they also come pretending to be a man asking about a Scorpio woman, thinkin' that both male and female of our kind are absolutely identical in our thought processes.)

Anyway, I think it would be great to have a dedicated food thread, (along with other topics) to combat the stereotypes so witlessly parroted around the net.
Whaddya say? Let's give this thread a real go. eh?

I'm going back to school ... damn truck drivers, damn craving for lamb.

~makes angry face, then grins cause I don't do angry well~

And for this, I am now going to step out and purchase a nice sweet Extreme Egg and Sausage (resembles
a Big Mac with sausage and scrambled egg) unless of course, I change my mind before arriving at the Jack in the Shack fast food slophouse. May add a hashbrown while I am at it.

But you know what's really good, sometimes— A Denver Omelette topped with cheese and Green Chili pepper. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

Try as we might, Mr F, the looney birds that come by to post will never see scorpio men as anything more than walking penises (yes...that has duel meaning).

I've practically given up trying to convince anyone otherwise.

Indeed.
Of course... that doesn't stop the Scorpio (etc) women from commenting on those threads that seek to know what a Scorpio Man is thinking. They almost never ask the op to ask the Scorpio Man in question, himself, what's goin' on in his head. No.... no.... instead he will be confronted by an outraged girlfriend or spouse, out of the blue about this or that based upon the silly nonsense she learned here. And so ends that man's last shred of peace he ever knew.

When I joined, I was bombarded by frustrated women right and left. It was out of the blue.
I felt like I was getting a spankin' or a chewin' for every thing every man on earth had ever done.
Women, women, women.... They have all I need to live. It ain't easy livin' with 'em. I don't like the alternative.

If you're like me, you probably have no idea why you're here, either.
Maybe you do.

Speaking of Wine,
If you can, how would you describe the taste of genuine Italian Chianti and
what dishes would suggest go well with it?

I've never tasted Chianti myself, but have tasted it as a flavoring in my
one of my favorite pipe tobaccos, which taste can be best described as Apple Pie,
however, it is difficult to ascertain whether the tobacco was the dominant flavor
over the wine.

Your thoughts.

No. I dislike turkey.

I don't like the white meat.

How about other sides and helpings?

Cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce, and wine. That would be enough for me.

This year we've decided to forego the usual thanksgiving meal and have chicken parmesan.

I've been known to simply enjoy a KFC extra crispy leg for Thanksgiving and or a balogna sammy.

Depends on the type of Chianti, but the $ 10 stuff is acidic, and sort of cherry ish. The stuff that's been aged in oak has more vanilla hints. Definitely not apple flavored. That has to be from some other part of the tobacco.

Not a big chianti fan.

I always found it rather flat compared to other reds much like Pinot Grigio is rather flat compared to other whites.

My favorite reds are Spanish Tempranillos.

I see. How do you choose a wine for a meal? I am quite base in this matter.
For me, it's been either water, iced tea or a diet coke, or if it's breakfast, it's coffee..... the strongest.
I suppose I do qualify as quite an unrefined ruffian in this matter.

My way of choosing wine:

White meat = white wine, red meat = red wine, pork = ros? wine

BBQ creates an exception. Both chicken and pork can be matched with red if its been smoked and/or matched with a strong BBQ sauce.

Then I think of where the food/dish originated. Spanish food = Spanish wine, etc.

It usually works from there.

Sounds good, concise and well written.
Thank you Rabbit.
