lost a good friend

I'm feeling down at the moment. A person whom I have been friends with for 10 years has now decided to cut ties with me.

I have to admit our relationship was special. We used to talk everyday for hours and hours. For me, he was a good friend. he on the other hand, wanted a committed relationship. So, we didn't talk for awhile until he got dumped by his ex and I was with him to comfort his aching heart. However, he again confessed his feelings. I declined because to me, he is just a friend. So, just like before, we didn't talk for awhile.

2 weeks ago was his birthday , i decided to send him a message to greet him. He didn't reply. I then called. he didnt answer. I saw him log in just awhile ago. (a pop up notice when a buddy goes online). I automatically messaged him on skype asking him why he's ignoring me. he didn't reply. I asked if i did something wrong he should tell me and that we shouldn't ruin our friendship. he didn't reply. What he did was delete me from his list. How did i know this? because his picture that usually shows on my screen even if his offline is now saying "?" and the profile says "this person does not share information with you".

so yeah.. I don't know what to do. he obviously gave me his answer. but i am hurt because I still want him to be my friend. he apparently does not feel the same. I am hurt!

that your feelings are in line with his ( only YOU know for sure )

...or just let him go. No PLAYING games.
Just let him go so he can get over you.

Incidentally, the REJECTION you are feeling may cause SUPERFICIAL ATTRACTION
because it is the primal instinct that has allowed social animals to survive.
"Safety in numbers" in a herd of horses, for example. The dominant horse pushes
the less dominant away from the herd, causing them to feel ALONE and VULNERABLE
to predators ... and wanting NOTHING MORE than to be accepted BACK to the herd.

This is the thing that causes stalking, not getting over people, crazy behavior,
etc. And is also why "some people" will turn their backs on you when you walk
into a room after you've been in a relationship with them. They want to SHOW YOU
that you mean nothing to them (though they are pretending - otherwise they
would not BOTHER to turn around. lol ) I just laugh to myself when I see it.

So ... part of what you are feeling is superficial.
But KNOWING this ... now you can handle it, k?

Yeah that pride will always get you especially when we are really trying to be with you. The fact that both times he asked you passed it up is really not a good look. I agree with the other posters if you really wanted him you would have said something to hint even if you where unsure.

I think its best to let him have his space. If he wants to be your friend again and you are willing then hey. But if not then its a wrap for sure
