This is the first year I'm planning to garden! I've actually been thinking about beginning a 'moon garden', where everything blooms/becomes visible at night. This project of sorts is purposeful for me. When I'm not creating, I very quickly destroy. Many times I feel it in some type of relation to my Leo Rising and Sun competing with my Scorpio Moon.

It feels like a balancing act - too much fire burns out everything and extinguishes itself from lack of controlled energy consumption. Too much water and nothing is left.

With this garden, I will be taking (in a figurative sense) my Sun and Moon for creation together. The 'Fire'(light) and Water... even taking into account the Earth in my chart. I have faith that from having a tactile and project that takes time and energy for putting dedication and care into.. this may be a tool for me to use my aspects and placements towards a healthy, planned task.

I'm posting this here just because the feedback that many have here is always helpful and enlightening.... that AND because most of the Leos also lurk about here too 😉

Has anyone tried to find external piece through a project or task for some aspects in your chart? Any tips for this - because I actually failed at growing bamboo (which is really pathetic..)

For anyone that doesn't know what a moon garden is...

And being an Insomniac, I can appreciate the nighttime bloomings! 🙂

Yay!

My (future) Mother-in-law is a Cancer (and definitely has a green-thumb) and she told me about Moon Gardens last Spring. The concept was intriguing and had a natural pull for me - I'm very much a 'moon child', as my Memere has always put it. We have a koi pond with luminaries and the 'fencing' of our backyard are tall Oaks and forest. It really encases the moonlight.

One of my favorite mantras is, 'Live by the Sun; Love by the Moon'.

OH HA. I tend to go antique browsing and always end up finding some ultra old book in German. I always buy it. I don't know why. There's just something charming about an old book that makes absolutely no sense and has no purpose in my life whatsoever. I suspect, however, that I'm secretly jealous of not finding crazy connections and developing an intricate conspiracy theory like from National Treasure or something. .... One of these days..!! Excuse me, the full moon may be reflecting some odd quirks of mine. 😛

Actually, I think if you run a search using pagan and Wiccan as keywords, you may find some more links. Harvest, crop, annual/perennial/etc. It's all about the synonyms, baby (a la Biggie Smalls).

And if your 'level of experience' to qualify your input on a topic has absolutely nothing to do with one another 😛 Interest sparks interest which sparks knowledge etc etc so basically we're going to be experts, alright?!?! 😛

Too many 😛 faces. Lol.

Gorgeous!

Last night I picked up:
Moonflowers
Candytuft (white)
Black Hollyhock

& a bunch more but my brain is fried & I'm too lazy to look 😉

I will eventually heh.

I still need to pick up Black Calla Lilies & 'Casablancas'.

I'm going to pick up some mirrored rocks for the edging, maybe modify some Mason jars with Solar Powered lighting for a nighttime back lighting to reflect with the moon against the rocks. 🙂

Oh, and I'm debating on picking up some Salvia plant (gorgeous purple) but I'm wondering if my pets will trip out if they nibble it..

Housepets - I'm not worried about 3 of the pets here (2 dogs + 1 cat) since they're not usually roaming about (they have protective owners). I have my cat who thinks he's a panther and roams everywhere, but maybe I'll plant catnip to distract him. The other is a dog and probably too dopey to care about plants (Golden Retriever + ball = ADD).

I just know it was purplish when I went flower shopping. I'm clueless otherwise. I've actually never really wanted to smoke salvia; too psychedelic and I'm already dealing with those leftovers. 😛
