Mostly for the American members here. He recently died of a heart attack. He not only happenes to be from my home town, but he also wrote about me in his first book! I have nothing but respect and admiration for the man and his accomlishments.
But, my question, has anybodt noticed the ridiculous amounts of national news media being applied to his untimely death? Its almost bizarre the volume of tributes being made for the man.
Yes, actually Ive noticed, but why do you find it ridiculous?? I think b/c it was so sudden the press (his friend & colleagues) cant really get a handle on it.
What did he write about you? He seemed like a really nice guy.
I expected this to be the case, but only in and around Buffalo, NY, his hometown. Not the rest of the country! Its like a head of state passed away oir something. I just never realised his national weight with people.
LadyM, he wrote about bringing his father in to see me at my business which used to be located a couple blocks away from his family home. The business had been active since after WWII in the same location, so was sort of a neighborhood icon. Its mentioned in his first book "Big Russ"
Larry King > be dead Oprah wInfree die and any other yakkers got to be dead > so its a good deal. That's their social milieu y'know so uh they talk about it,.
