SCORPIONIC RADAR Where art thou??

So I've known this guy for a few months. On and off...on and off...when I say on and off...just friendly...but again even less than friends...he cares about me enough to always keep in touch...daily basis but yet doesn't want to see me elsewhere than the gym...then again if we were friends he wouldn't care if we saw each other elsewhere...my point being...

It was my bday a week ago, when he found out, he was ecstatic and wished me happy bday like 10 million times...i know i know i'm reading too much into this...

moving on...he asked me where i was celebrating and when i told him he was thrilled as he had loved that place...after having been i was anxious to see him to tell him all about it...i didnt see him for the whole week end so i decided to send him an email telling him the highlights of the evening and how that restaurant reminded me of another one that i had enjoyed...

Anyways, next day I see him at the gym and go straight to see him and ask him whether he got my email...to which he replies when did you send it...i said last night and he says that he hadn't checked his emails yet...so i tell him not to bother...kind or summarized what the email said...

Now today...he replies to the email i sent him on sunday although i had previously told him what the email said therefore stating that he didn't need to reply...

he replies to the email very straightforwardly saying how sorry he was for not seeing my email earlier and that no he had never gone to the restaurant i was referring...the one that was alike the one he recommended. He then finished with KIND REGARDS, his name.

If I had to give my opinion in a situation like this one...I would say...it's nice that he replied but he really didn't have to. Especially since we had covered the whole email face to face. It was odd how straight forward and formal he was about the email. Wonder if he is always like that??

What do you guys think...btw...he is a Libra.

Is there an email etiquette?
The fact that he is replying means that he is somehow interested by you at a friendship level at least!
It also means that he respects you and appreciates and values your opinion.

I guess so...I forgot to mention that i REPLIED to his "sorry for not seeing your mail earlier" message by saying.
No worries..you should really try that restaurant, they have a nice dessert list. To which he replied a bit later during the day: Thanks :o)

I mean...he is efficient when it comes to replying to emails...but why is he sending me all the wrong signals...I would only be so efficient in getting back to someone if i was interested more than friendship!!
