I realize this post is walking into a huge field of cultural dynamite. So I'll try to approach this with the limited amount of sensitivity I have available.

I've noticed more often then not, every scorpio I've been friends or enemies with are conservative or republicans. I can only think of two scorps that were actually democrat or independant.

Its not a slant against majority of scorps being repubs BTW. But I am curious on something do you guys think Scorp suns tend to be republicans is because they tend to be conservative personality-wise in general?

I've always felt like the outsider amongst Scorps sun or Moons. Mainly because I tend to be more open-minded towards people/music/general. Plus I dont get all jealous/possessive in relationships like a lot of scorps tend to. And also because my views tend to lean toward the "liberal" side. I dont know if these personality traits are due to my Sag Moon or that I had good parenting.

Do you think general personality traits of a astrological sign can have some influence in shaping political views. Or do you feel it is more of the environment/community you're raised in?

"In the United States, the political system is a very marginal affair. There are two parties, so-called, but they're really factions of the same party, the Business Party. Both represent some range of business interests. In fact, they can change their positions 180 degrees, and nobody even notices. In the 1984 election, for example, there was actually an issue, which often there isn't. The issue was Keynesian growth versus fiscal conservatism. The Republicans were the party of Keynesian growth: big spending, deficits, and so on. The Democrats were the party of fiscal conservatism: watch the money supply, worry about the deficits, et cetera. Now, I didn't see a single comment pointing out that the two parties had completely reversed their traditional positions. Traditionally, the Democrats are the party of Keynesian growth, and the Republicans the party of fiscal conservatism. So doesn't it strike you that something must have happened? Well, actually, it makes sense. Both parties are essentially the same party. The only question is how coalitions of investors have shifted around on tactical issues now and then. As they do, the parties shift to opposite positions, within a narrow spectrum." - Noam Chomsky

i found that quote rather interesting^ to the discussion... im a scorp and i hold no ties to either party ..both nonsense. i think anyone with a keen perception of us history would see past the red blue donkey elephant illusion of politics. 🙂

Yuck, no offense to some of ya, but the GOP & the DNP are for the sheeple. It's all a sham and we've all been caught up in it at one time or another. Fire 'em all, and hire people with common sense instead of law degrees and aspirations of becoming rich and famous on the taxpayers dime.

Independent Libertarian.

I agree with you wholeheartedly! I still vote Democrat only b/c I feel it is the lesser of two evils though and just in case it makes a difference. 😢 Of course, I wasn't asked the question but I will answer as a Pisces...lol. I do have Scorpio friends though and most of them are democrats or just don't do politics at all.

@Chance11--Interesting points and I have believed that for many years now!

libra mixed in with scorp in the right places can be wonderful. several on this board as you can see. i almost put one in the 'nice guy' category in real life by mistake 😛. he is as easy going and loving as one can ever imagine

It can be a real headache for me. I am such a walking contradiction, sometimes feel like I'm bi-polar. Like I should have a name for my libra and a name for my scorpio. LOL Astrology explains SO MUCH. For so long I always joked about how "I can never agree with myself".. when it's actually very true and now I know why.

I am the same way... Always disagreeing with myself lol To be honest, it's really fucking annoying.

What's the difference? Everyone's a crook in the system hahaha!!But Republican rules anyway, they like guns and taxes. I hate taxes but I understand their way and desire to make money so RESPECT!

And further to that ^^ the U.S. of A is NOT a Democracy
( so ... why be a Democrat? )

The United States of America is a Constitutional Republic.

I pledge allegiance to The Flag of the United States of America
and to The Republic for which it stands...

I'm a scorp that tends to lean left on almost all issues; however, I must point out that I can still see the rationalization for republican's thinking. I understand why they feel the way they do about certain issues like taxes, religion, abortion, etc. It still doesn't change the way I feel, but it doesn't mean I don't see where they're coming from. I think it's a little closed minded for the original poster of this thread to say "or maybe I had good parenting." So are you saying republican's come from bad parenting and are closed minded people——?

LOL! Cute thread. most scorpios I know are democrats, I barely know any who are republican. I've lived around conservative 'everything' my whole life, thank god I grew up 😉 lol Its just not where my soul is lol, my republican family are soooo disappointed, but they'll have to get over it 😄

I would never vote repub/ tea party a anything but I do consider myself a Progressive Independent w/ the heart of a democrat 😉 All the extreme crazy bullshit is a huge turn off for me. I could dig a moderate republican but anything right of that is too loony-toony for me. Haha and I'm a capricornsaying this ^_^.
