Do you guys believe in "everything happen for a reason" ?
Recently I have been bumping into my aries ex in very weird last minute turn of events, and I know it souns paranoid or that I'm reading too much of common situations but this is not the first time that freaky things have happened to me.
The most extreme one was a couple of years ago I was offered a job in this small airline in my country (I'm a flight attendant) and I said no because something didn't felt right, and everyone called me crazy for turning down a job in a very bad economic situation. A few weeks latter I got a job in a massive airline half way across the world, the job 1000 times better that the one I turned down, so far so good but the freaky part came two months after when one of the aircrafts of the small airline crash and everyone died (including the flight attendant). I know it sounds movie like but I swear is true.
I know I'm rambling, I'm sorry that's my gem moon. Anyway bottom line is: do you guys truly believe that "everything happens for a reason" and "life gives you signs" and so on?

Yes I do. If I don't eat, I'll be hungry. If I stay up too long I will be tired. If I walk into a room full of men, will I meet one--my chance is pretty d*mn high. Everything happens for a reason. Do I believe the "reason" is fated/destined to happen? No. Why? Cause/effect.

P.S. The OP is highlighting two different things. One is about fate, the other is about intuition.

I don't like the idea of fate and destiny.

Why?

The idea that everything is pre-determined by destiny or fate just doesn't sit well with me. For example, if someone dies at birth does that mean it was pre-determined by some great force? If so, that's cruel. Maybe I misunderstand what Destiny/Fate is though idk.

No, I don't think you do.

I asked twice about fate, at the beginning and at the end, i mention intuition therefore the comment about rambling.

Cause and effect don't cover everything.... one example is dead newborn babies as somebody mention.

How does one "control" something that already took place?

Life lessons would definitely be the result when the reason reveals itself and LEARNING from it wouldn't it?

Sounds like very solid common sense to me.

I mean we are all in control of our choices obviously. When something takes place out of our control that interrupts those choices there's always a reason or cause for that to happen also out of our control. When the reason/cause reveals itself we are then wise to the WHYS.

I'm sure a doctor would argue otherwise. Let's not confuse the difficulty that a person (in this case the parents) would have with trying to understand/find "meaning" for the death of their child or their inability to accept the reason with there being no reason because of notions like innocence.

My post stands.

As for the rambling, I ramble as well, so I understood it. I was just trying to figure out if you were really asking about fate or intuition. You used an example, that did not fit your question.

I definitely believe everything happens for a reason, even though at the time u may not understand what that reason is....usually u figure it out later.

I also believe n fate/destiny to a certain degree because I have found that sometimes no matter what choices u make to try to avoid a certain outcome, it happens anyway. Or to make a certain outcome happen, & it doesn't. To me that means it was/wasn't meant to be. Also, sometimes u r n the right place at the right time for smtg....how does that happen? To me, it clearly means it was meant to b. If those things r not fate/destiny then what are they?
