The Signs and Suicide

Not- the signs OF suicide! hehe ahh aherm well ahhhhanyway-

I was curious about this particular topic because I read somewhere, along time ago, that Scorpios are the zodiac sign that is most likely to commit suicide. ::GASP:: Moi?!!!

I say pisces (though I'm open and could be persuaded otherwise) but I bet there are a lot of different opinions on this one...so ahhhyeah twalk amongst yaselves.

I say capricorn, or a strong saturn placement even

Seems to me that Pisceans would committ suicide because if their occassional escapism and pure craziness (judging by the way of my friend).

Scorpios would because the inner-self of a Scorpio is the most anomic of any zodiac sign - And obviously, as studies show, the suicide rate races up in times of anomie.

P.S. Im not saying all cappies are suicidal, It's just I've known some who can really sink into some deep depression.

And yea, maybe Caps too, because half the time it seems like they are fighting misery (like My Father).

E of the HS - good point about the anomie-suicide connection but I really wonder if this state of inner malaise is a "sign-specific" anomaly or if it transcends the signs, at least at times- I have known depression to take grip of (at some point in their lives) even the most carefree air signs and happyfire individuals. And so, suicide would therefore be a closer haunt, for anyone going through black times, than those who are happy.

Would a happy water have the equivalent suicide tendency as a deeply depressed air? I wish it were that simple- such equations are fun to ponder...

The self destructive nature of water signs, however, does lead me to believe that suicide rates would be up for us "drowny types."

I have never believed that Astroogy is like that. Life is not that simple and it puzzles me that some do not feel this way because to me life guarantees us more complexity than that, and I love it that way.

Leo is usually talked about as the most joyous of the signs, but a depressed leo will take their life much faster than a scorpio or capricorn who are not in states of depression.

The reason why I know that Scorpios are the most apt to committ suicide is that Scorpios is the sign that has a lot to do with chaos and change. The rules of anomie in society say that with too much change and/or chaos, or just a mere lack of rules, regulations, and guidelines the suicide rate will be high. Emile Durkeim studied all this and I remember paying close attention when I learned about him.

Scorpios sometimes live too much of a mobilized life for their own good, and can sometimes break themselves just as quickly as they can make themselves. If any sign represents (in an exaggerated form) the bad side of passion, pain, and change - it's Scorpio. Which is why I say what I say not based neccessarily on opinion, but on what would seem normal.

Of course, you could be suicidal as any sign. Astrology is Nature, and it does not include Nurture, so Astrology could only ever be part of the 'equation'.

You are funny girl but I must be honest and say that I did think about it when I was a teenager, I got in a lot of trouble and I was so mad I thought about cutting my wrist but I did not do it. I guess I was going through some things back then but to think about doing it know is not an OPTION.

SL - I swear to god, I think we are living parallel lives or something..I did once slit my wrist when I was younger..Inflict pain on self to get back in touch with reality..I love pain..pain arouses me..lol..man I need help!!..haha..Nah..seriously it wasn't to kill myself..it was just release of anger..But they do say that Scorpios go through some emotional turmoil in the earlier stages of life..My ex boyfriend (first love of 2 years) stabbed himself in the arm (why is it always the arm!..lol) when we had to go our seperate ways..he said he can't imagine life without me and his aunty was going berserk on the phone, saying "I hope your happy with yourself young lady, do you know what this crazy boy has just done to himself"..sh*t..that was scary..So I guess done mine cos I owed him one..lol..sorry shouldn't really joke..but I find it funny..(I did my wrist about 3 months later during our seperation)

I'd be more prone to murdering the one responsible for my misery rather than commiting suicide I think, the hate I'd feel towards them would poison me. Eventually it'd be like a self-destruct mechanism. Anyway, seems unlikely, but I do have a tendency to be reckless when I feel miserable somehow subconsciously hoping to die on some level maybe or just blowing off steam...? Maybe just outta anger. I used to drink n drive, flooring the gas pedal on the freeway, changing lanes, cutting infront of others at dangerously short distances, swerving. Drive like a maniac on the street, against traffic, taking red lights and stop signs. I've done it maybe a couple of times over stupid stuff really... which you come realize after the fact, so really comtemplating suicide would be an awful mistake. There's been cases where people were rescued from dying after they attempted against their own lives and they realized how lucky they now were to be alive.
Has anyone heard about how japanese teens comtemplating suicide will search for other teens trying to do the same thing so that they can go together? There's websites that give instructions on how to do it and chatrooms they go to to find one another I think. But I think that supposedly it's an honorable way of escaping failure in the culture.

how i know lithium sunset was nice? well, watch the sunset on a warm summer day and you'll know 😉 during the day, especially at midday, the sunlight is so intense that you couldn't look straight into the sun, at least not without damaging your eyes. even in winter, when the sun's not that intense your pupils close in order to protect the retina and not a lot of sunlight can get through. but at sunset you can look straight into the sun, your pupils stay wide open and the lithium contained in the sunrays hits you... wow! not surprising that people fall in love watching the sunset 🙂

Illmatic, you are a fish, so I know it must be a constant struggle NOT to think about death and suicide during yer daily routine. Do you think about exotic drowning deaths when you poor yerself a glass of water? Just don't go and get yerself smatched in the subway k?

take a bath----in hot oil with starved (and oil resistant) sharks. But this really needs to last so let us not allow the oil to get toooo hot so that one may not die without being able to properly savour the pain.

Oh yes! I almost forgot- eyeballs must be removed (standard backyard grilling equipment should be fine) prior to entering the bath so that other sensory systems are hyper-sensitive ie: sound (yer own terrified screams) touch, smell, taste (mmmm fingerlickin' good is that fine hot oil!)- which reminds me...should a batter coating be prepared for the bather?...I mean-we're looking for a total EXPERIENCE here right?

Now THAT is a death bath delux.

By signs ey? I say that it can be ANY because there IS a PERFECT suicide.

A couple of months before the event I start scoping out the perfect place, the time of day there is less traffic, potential hide outs, distances from one thing to another... too much to mention. I learn everything about it and possibly about the people who traffic through here or live nearby... from the most obvious to the smallest yet MOST important details... anything and everything. I never drive through there more than once in a couple of weeks. I will need the perfect weapon, it has to be fast as I don't want to suffer through it for so long... I'm sure it will be painful on my soul... but I NEED the relief oh lord! I know I will be condemned... for the flames of hell will torture my poor soul...

I am prepared, I am convinced there is purpose to all. Every one of my actions is premeditated, every detail focused on, I have the perfect farewell... everything is so perfect that I have even left room for flexibility... all options have been scrutinized so as to react with cat-like reflexes, quickly and quietly during the possible unexpected. Obsessed with doing it to perfection... yes, maybe, but let me indulge in the minutiae if this be my last journey.

To the heart? Yes it'll be to the heart... life itself. It's getting dark and I'm tired... you can say that these last few moments might have been fun...? perfect almost, if it hadn't been such a hoax, if there was no poison and misery in my heart. It's time and somehow I did forget one detail... but that isn't important now, it must be done. Everything is in place, ready... I point, pull, shoot... in that order, in less time than you can say those three words. Target practice had been quite helpful... even if I dared not pull a trigger... blood gushed out... I watched quietly... no one wants to be alone those last moments. I placed the gun in his hands once he stopped fighting for life... pathetic really. THAT is the perfect suicide.

Other than that I'd think the water signs are the most prone to commiting suicide.

Do men scorps show more depression than women scorps? I can sense when my scorp man friend is depressed and I feel so helpless. I'm usually always up-beat and dont let much interfere with my happiness. When we talk he starts to come out of it, I just wish he could see that the sky is the limit for him...dont know how else to communicate this to him except just maybe be here for him
