GO GRAMMA! LOL 🙂 That's one thing I hope I do not get, RA. I remember her hands so well. She'd crochet to try and keep them supple, but even that was rough going the last few years before she gave it up. How she'd apologize for a messy home when a dust bunny dared not rear its head anywhere. How Granddad teased her unmercifully and she'd say "Oh shut up George!" How she'd repeatedly try to let her hair grow and pinned it up, then would just go get it cut again. The simple gold hoops in her ears, always. The way her deep brown eyes shone softly into mine. She'd call us out to the kitchen for those apron sweets, and Granddad would call out "Margaret! You're not giving those kids candy again, are you?!" and she'd say "Of course not." while doling them out and smiling impishly.
So many memories, funny and some not, but they're mine. Definitely hold that girl as close as you can, order that boy to move closer to his mother. 😄

I was the last grand kid...the one before me is 10 years older...so you can imagine my good fortune 😉
we lived right behind my gramma and grandpa until I was 5 and my grampa died.
then we bought a bigger house and she moved in with us (had cancer).
my grandma taught me how to ride a bike,I have pictures of her pushing me and letting me go....and one of her riding my little purple schwinn(sp?).it's so cute.
I remember my aunt and uncle coming to visit and we had those guns that shot the white plastic balls...all of us running around the house at war, grandma the platoon sargeant even tho she was sick.
I'd sleep with my grandma and spoon all night, and she's the one who taught me to pray the "now I lay me down" prayer every night before bed.
she was a wonderful woman.
she died when I was 13.

— Bells, I had to slink off into the bedroom and make with the closed lids. Twelve hours of the most intense joy a girl could ever ask for today. Wheeeeee!!

Your Gran sounds just as terrific as mine, I was 23 when mine passed away. I miss her.

perfectly understandable my dear.
have a wonderful day,despite the work. 🙂

I miss mine too.
after they are gone, you realize there is so much you didn't ask them, because you think they'll always be around.
