Cailleach...me..amazingly enough a word I did know. Though aside from wanting to see the Emerald Isle ( it's on my list, can ya dig it? ) and having deplorable Gaelic word skill I can count Irish as part of the mutt factor that is me. 😛 Gaelic for 'witch' and something I have been called over the course of my life for different reasons. Cailleach..witchy woman, witch, kitchen sorceress, bruja, blah blah blah. Some tongue in cheek, some amused, sometimes in ire, oft times in private moments.

But if I'm remembering right Cailleach was more then just that.. something like a god of earth.. I dont know... Think 'Gaea', but as a ugly, mean tempered, old hag of a witch...?? lol..

Ahh the joy of parents that make ya study gaeilge and pound it into your head when your a lil rug-rat so ya don't forget family's Irish heritage... lol

LOL I'm glad they didn't do that with me or my head would have been spinning. I'd have had to have learned Welsh, Gaelic, Spanish, Sioux, German and heaven knows what else. OMG!!!! ♥

I knooooow! I — turtles! My very first 'lovey' as a tiny girl was a denim turtle my mother sewed for me. I drug that thing around and slept with it until I was a teenager. He was my first true love you know. My knight in shining armor that saved me from under the bed monsters and bogies posing as the next mornings clothes over the chair. He still has pride of place, my turtle. And he has pockets on his shell I can slip treasures into. I keep him on my nightstand. He still watches over me while I sleep. 🙂

I never had a stuffed one,but a few smelly old box turtles who always promised to bite me if given the chance. lol

Usually when I receive a compliment on my eyes it's "Pretty eyes", "nice eyes" or a startled response to them in sunlight. It's said as an offhand casual remark, no one has ever said they lose track of speech because of them.
