Taurus and gifts

So I've been gone for a month out of the three that I'm going to be gone. I left my Taurus close friend something little and heartfelt to open each week I'm gone. let me start by saying she doesn't receive gifts well and gets embarrassed.

Anyway, she's been super distant but I'm trying to play it off because I know she is very busy and Taurus are all about showing their love rather than saying it or showing it through a text.

However last night, I asked her if she liked something and she responded with "do not buy me anything" when I asked why she said it like that she said it's because she doesn't want me buying her anything. I asked her to explain it and then I thought better about it and said nevermind, if that is what she wants, I'll respect it.

What gives? This girl is a close friend. Why would she say that....?

For me if I don't want someone giving me gifts is because I feel guilty. I know they are interested in me and I am not with them, so I feel like I shouldn't accept gifts.

Are you absolutely sure she doesn't want anything? Taurus usually loves gifts, unless you're buying her something she'll never use and would consider a nuisance?

Instead of "guessing", have the balls to lay your cards out on the table. Tell her how you feel about her and what you want. Either she want the same or she doesn't. But at least you will know where you stand in order to make your next move... It says all the "guessing" games. Just be straight.

She is a good friend. I have laid my cards out on the table and while there is mutual attraction, we are better off as friends at this point in our lives...and when I asked her why she doesn't want stuff, she didn't answer my question - just reiterated to please not buy her stuff

This is why I'm confused. Anytime I get her something, I put a lot of thought into it and she seems to like it. Plus she gets me stuff all the time.

I'm wondering if by getting her something to open for each week I'm gone, she thinks I did too much and spent too much money even though I collected these things for a while. I put a lot of thought and planning into it. Like when I was there I'd bring her a coffee at least 3 times a week so since I'm gone, I got her a gift certificate to pay for those 3 coffees.

I don't know if it's a guilt thing or what but I would think that by now she knows that I like to do that kind of thing for her....but she's so busy at the moment I can hardly get her to respond to a text

Honestly, I don't know her or you, but I did have a BF like you once who was constantly gift giving to me and eventually, I distanced myself and stopped communicating because #1. I believed his feelings for me were deeper than mine were for him, and #2, he gave me large gifts that he made himself. They were nice enough, but I had no use or space for them so I ended the relationship. On the other hand I had a Cap BF who was giving by taking me out to dine and buying me jewelry on special occasions and I kept him around for a long time.

So maybe she's sending you a message here. Okay. I hope this helps a bit.

Ah I see. So maybe the gifts I left for her had the opposite effect. That sucks but I get it.

But why wouldn't she be honest and just tell me that? Avoid hurting my feelings?

Maybe she's trying to spare you feelings by saying nothing and hoping you'll just get the message. She DID tell you she doesn't want gifts from you. Let's accept and respect that. It doesn't matter why. If she's a friend just let it go and respect her wishes. Maybe she'll tell you in time.

Yes, I read that, but if this woman honestly doesn't want gifts, maybe he should just respect her wishes about it and let the matter go for the time being. If a Taurus is serious about something like that, I'd try to take the hint. It's strange to me though, a Taurus who doesn't like gifts. I've never met one personally.

Makes sense. I appreciate the insight. In no way were my thoughts anything about getting her affection. I got her things because like I said, I'm out of the country for 3 months. I normally see her every day so was just trying to leave her some things to make her smile while I'm gone. Plus she's always spending her money on other people, just wanted to help her out a bit.

But I get it - nothing unless it's birthday or Christmas and even then, something small.

But now that it's done and the gifts are given, what now? Do I apologize?
