A) he told me he wanted something more (several times)
B) he went over and above to help me whenever I was in need. He bought me things. He would spend hours talking with me about very personal matters. He introduced me to his family.
They don't really make it a secret if they know you will be receptive to it. Theyll only use subtlety if they are testing the waters but once they know they will eventually be successful (they will wear you down if need be) it will be very obvious their intention.
