Anyone into ATVs and 4-wheelers?

I want to get a winch for a Teryx two seater side by side for Aqua for Christmas. I have googled and it's very confusing. I don't know what is worthwile and not in terms of weight pull strength or brands or what any of the terms mean. Can someone knowledgable in this area give me a little education and make suggestions?

Or am I better off letting the boys buy boy stuff and regrouping and find something else to get him?

It's either a 2013 or 2014 Kawasaki Teryx. Looks like this:

The only benefit I can see putting a winch on a "sissy buggy" is to pull game out of the bush. Those 2 seaters are not really designed for heavy off roading.

Best to ask a dealer that sells the ATV which winch fits.

That, I will do.

They like to go muddin' and like to be prepared in case someone gets stuck. Strangers or themselves, doesn't matter to them who they pull out.

Of course, his has better mud tires on it. 🙂

Is it a 750 or 800?

A 2000lb or 3000lb winch should be sufficient. Be careful when the winch is under tension.
also, always inspect the cable prior to use. A frayed cable can snap and decapitate. So... fair warning. Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions. Ask the folks linked below what they would specifically recommend. Might also ask if they have a rear winch mount. This way you can
use the winch from either end of the vehicle.
