Mercury in Gemini vs Mercury in Virgo

Mercury in Virgo is not very big on "tooting their own horn," as far as intellectual ability goes. They are much more careful with their words and tend to think things through completely before they say anything about a subject. They really seem to care about the relevance and reliability of their thoughts, words, and actions and are more than happy to listen before speaking when they are unsure about a subject.

Mercury in Gemini is more than happy to say anything that flies into their minds on any given subject. Even if they are completely off-base or ill-informed they will speak with confidence, sometimes giving an "aire of authority" when speaking, regardless of how much they know about a subject. They are often sarcastic, rude, and cutting in their remarks if challenged. I think this is a defense mechanism designed to throw the attention off their own shallow thinking.

It seems that Mercury takes pride in their ability in a more mature way in Virgo, and more intersted in serving a given end effectively. Mercury in Virgo shows more caution in action and speech with regard to the affects on others or themselves. They are also more prone to withdrawl and depression when they can't find a solution to whatever they are working on, or feel ineffective, inadequate, or inefficient. They are less likely to communicate what is troubling them to others, perhaps out of fear of being found incompetent.

Mercury in Gemini seems to take pride in creating mischief, playful banter, or even argument if it serves to entertain them. Mercury in Gemini seems painfully ungrounded and childishishly irresponsible at times in their speech and actions, lacking consideration for consequences or sensitivity to other's feelings or position. They are less likely to admit or even recognize a flaw in their thinking or actions, rather taking the position of indifference when confronted. They are not prone to reflection or depression over their perfomance or relevance in anything they say or do. They'll more likely just move on without any thought when what they are doing proves to be too challenging or fails outright.

glad u enjoy i wish my mercury was in virgo more natural since i have a virgo sun and mars in virgo.

Well, I mean it does make me think before I speak, but I still say some pretty hurtful stuff, lol. I blame the scorp rising though 😉

So, how does this apply to Virgo's who have no problem criticizing you without a second thought? How is that not tooting their own horn?

"More careful with their words and think things through—" yea right. they think things through AFTER they've cut you down into nice little pieces, see you hurting, and
then walk away because they can't stand YOUR pained expression and the emotional ramifications of their harsh words.

sorry, but i don't agree with most of your post this time around. and as far as the other half regarding Gems, you make is sound as if we are the cold hearted ones and don't care
about people's feelings. that is just so opposite of what really goes on in this gemini. i care about others feelings so much, that often i bite my lip and withhold what i should have said.
especially in response to the ruthless comments that were directed at me from the fore mentioned virgo.
