Worth the effort :)

I had the most excellent time visiting with my virguy friend. I don't know anyone else who can spend 20 minutes talking about driving in the snow, complete with diagrams, physics explanations, interpretive reenactments, childhood reminiscences, teasing, laughing etc. I love being able to follow almost any conversational thread through the complete spectrum of detail like that. It's where we really meet up & complement each other. My emotional silliness with his extreme attention to detail. Detail adds incredible depth to the way I experience things emotionally, so I enjoy the way he boosts my mental imagery when he describes things. And I think he enjoys that my intelligent emotionality provides a safe environment for him to loosen up. Now he knows me well enough to trust that I can be emotive without going over his comfort threshhold, so he's much more open and relaxed when we hang out.

But one of my favorite aspects of our visits is how completely random the topics are that we end up exploring so deeply. And have a blast doing so.

What a good friend to have. I hope all y'all virgos & virgophiles can make connections like that, that enhance everyone involved.

It's hard to 'translate' sometimes though. I often have to work hard to be restrained and not react in an emotional way that he finds overwhelming. The payoff is that he reaches out to me more. Hard for a cancer to back off 😛 Sometimes he does or says things that I want to quiz him about, but I know from experience he will put his guard up and not answer. I have to step back and pay attention to what we do or talk about together that results in a good experience, and build on that. Very different than my usual style .

I used to think he was immobile, that our friendship wasn't progressing, but what really happened is that he needed things to go at his pace, and once I backed off some, he has been 'directing' the pace more to his liking. I just need to keep from doing the usual cancerian thing and getting all excited 😉
