Asking Aqua BF of 9 Mos. to Move Out of State w Me

I have been with my boyfriend for 9 months and it's all been great. We met online, have had our issues, but have stayed respectful and loving towards each other the entire time. When we first met I was unemployed for the first 4-5 months of our relationship and while he did make a comment at the very end of those months, he was still great. He paid for dates (which I consciously kept low cost)and I contributed as much as possible. We've basically stayed VERY independent individuals while loving each other. Neither of us are very good at letting one take care of the other but it does feel so good being together.

We also live in New York and have both griped lots about wanting to leave. He wants to be in the country, I want a smaller city. I just got an opportunity to move to a solid career in Nashville, the perfect compromise. He hates his job and wants something new that would have him outdoors rather than in a city office. He knows I am moving regardless and has been supportive but we have not yet talked about if he has any interest in coming with me. I told him I wanted to talk with him about this and he wants to tomorrow night. I was thinking of having him take a mini road trip with me down there for just a weekend and then having him join me a few months after getting settled in.

Any advice as how to approach this? I'm very nervous.
