My Aqua initiate the talk!

Well....I just started an Aqua post last week because I was concerned with how he felt. He came to stay with me Wed through Sun and we had an amazing, fun weekend! He actually initiated the talk and asked "where are we". I've played it cool and let things progress naturally at a slow, comfortable pace and boy did it pay off! In fact, I can't believe how affectionate he is and also very verbal about how he feels. I am really hoping it's sincere and not some show because from what I've seen here regarding Aqua's, that's NOT their MO.

If he initiated the talk then you can be certain it's because you weren't pushing or pressuring which gives him enough space to figure out his feelings for you, the key is to let him have his space when he's not affectionate and cuddly with you, don't get all paranoid and begin over analyzing his behavior and questioning if he meant what he said, it's really important to be secure. Also take your own time about getting into something serious with him even if he's the one initiating the talk, this way you can be sure he's serious and not just caught up in the moment. As long as you don't appear relationship NEEDY he'll be there for you and follow through.

Thanks for the advice 🙂 I definitely like my "me time" so I have no problem giving him his space. The fact that we're 5 hours away and only see each other on weekends (not every weekend) helps in the sense that I think we both are really excited to see each other when it does happen. I do have a question....

Do Aqua's heat up when they figure out they're into someone but then cool off quickly??

I can only speak for myself, I am really not up and down about my feelings for someone when I'm 100% sure, I never get tired of the person especially if he doesn't make me feel like i have to be there for him to feel secure, I never get tired of seeing him, making love etc but I need a break to recharge, I will cool off but never push my love out to make him feel insecure and off balance, my embers burn deep for someone I love and care about so although I may need a break from sharing and connecting I never stop thinking about the person and I'm never gone for long periods of time, if I feel the person can't live and breathe without me I lose all attraction, I just want out and I'd be hard pressed to come back to someone like that.

I'm surprised he initiated "the talk" 1st. It's probably b/c you did a good job in not pressuring him to open up about his feelings.

This will make an Aqua take on a new level of respect for you b/c they're so used to being bombarded with people who, from day 1 have "Tell me everything" signs on their foreheads

I can't speak for every Aqua but with me, I only associate affection with my emotions. So if I'm being really affectionate & open with someone, it's 99% of the time b/c I really like them AND also feel that the feelings are mutual

An Aqua 1st acknowledging they have feelings for you & then actually being comfortable with their feelings for you are 2 DIFFERENT things

An Aqua might start out being extremely open & affectionate when they open up about their feelings for the 1st time, BUT once it actually settles in later, they may get hot/cold...but NOT b/c of anything you've said/done wrong...Moreso b/c some people weren't aware that they couldn't handle their feelings for someone until they're actually in that moment when it hits them.

Some Aquas are an open book ready to explode. They just don't/can't b/c they don't feel 100% certain that they've found the right person. BUT when they are certain, they'll release so much love to you that you'll be like wtf! And never would've seen it coming!

Yes, that's how I feel. He was so aloof in the beginning that I assumed it set the tone for how he truly is. Now that we've had the "talk", things have really changed. He is very open and very affectionate. Unfortanately, it's long distance so I think we are both really hesitant to really open up to each emotionally for fear that we may get in too deep to something that won't work in the end because we live so far away. He menionted "everything about you, about us is perfect besides the fact we live so far apart".
