Rising sun/planet..what does it mean?

Hi everyone,
Ok i was looking at my ex birth chart and I read that the rising sun is very important and based on it one can determine any other aspect about that person's personality.
It says that my ex has a Gemini rising sun. I read the details of it but I dont feel like it applies to his personality at all. Could this be a wrong explanation by the website?
The part where they mention something about being artistic that's very wrong. He would admire my paintings and all but he wasnt good at drawing and he didnt have such great interest in art. He was more interested in money making and business.

Hi nouran, as said above make sure you have the birth time correct. I am thinking it changes every 8 hours per day. (someone correct me if I am wrong)

Interesting topic! I think tizi and dimplez has already covered it but yeah basically the rising is how we portray ourselves in general. The reason why you don't associate these traits with your ex might be due to the fact you've known him a lot more and looking past the surface.

It really does take a long time for others to see and I only have a handful of friends who understand it. Outwardly I'm a Libra and I think it really shows but taking all of that in there are always positive and negative traits and they'll manifest themselves differently depending on how you wish to view it.

I also read somewhere depending on the time of birth your moon and rising may have a bigger influence which is why my aqua traits are not overly apparent.

Oh I didn't know time also plays such an important role. Because on the websites they tell u to choose 12:00 pm as a time if u dont know or not sure of ur birth time.
Im not sure of his birth time and I asked him before and he doesnt even know his own birth time. It is a difficult thing to know/remember.
And y would the city ur born in make any difference??

So could that be inaccurate?
He is a social person and he talks and meets loads of people everyday so im sure hes experienced with that. I must agree with TAURUSbelle he once told me that he talked his way out of speeding ticket incident.

But that little description I read on the above website didnt describe his personality at all.
Plus I always been more social than him anyway. I talk a lot especially with ppl that have interesting topics to discuss or argue about. Which makes me slightly into human rights and political matters.
im a moon in sagittarius and sun in taurus and it says i have a virgo rising sun dunno what that would mean cuz every website has a slightly different explanation. Anyways i dont find the description on that link ACCURATE ENOUGH!

Ur sun is in aqua like him but ur moon is in libra and his moon is in cancer.lol and y would u think ur screwed? haha

The city adds the time zone, so it could be adjusted in the time.

Time of birth is a deciding factor on the rising sign if I had been born 2 hours earlier, it places my rising in Virgo. If I had been born noon on the day it would place my rising in Taurus AND my moon in Aquarius.

oh my..so time makes a huge difference then..what if we dont know what time we were born in can we still get an accurate description

I guess it depends on seriously you want to delve into astrology. Thinking more along the lines of aspects and houses. I mean to get a fuller picture you might need to see where the influences are coming from. On a general level I'd say my Aqua/Pisces/Libra combo explains me quite well but there's still pieces of the puzzle missing.

This is where generational planets become more than they are when they aspect my major placements, which houses okay a role. Which decans these signs fall in etc etc. It's actually a lot to process and I'm finding little things everyday.

And it's not to say I try to fit into these descriptions but there's that weird moment when it just clicks and you're like wow so this could be the reason why I feel a certain way or act a certain way.
