Happy Birthday to ALL of you out there today and may you have the most wonderful, exciting, spontaneous, surprising day.

Freebird,
Yeah, I do love a challenge...for some reason, even more so when it is posed to me by a male...lol!

Yeah, lol, we 'cook' in more ways than one!!

I think that is so cool that you still wish your Mom Happy Birthday, wherever she may be...

I am sorry you are without her. I agree with James. She sounds great!

I am feeling bewildered at the moment by the actions of the parents of an 18 year old friend of my daughter's. They kicked him out of their house because he has chosen not to follow their choice of religion (Mormon). He is a senior in high school, but, has been home-schooled all of his life. He is now attending public high school (while staying with us) but, is thinking he will have to quit to get a job in hopes of supporting himself.
He is a good kid. He does have some radical tastes in music...but, so does my daughter and others who I think are wonderful people...
I am appalled at the behavior of his parents! The best example of religious beliefs is example. Now, he is sure NOT to pursue their religion!
I do not attend church, but, I am very spiritual...
I may not be correct in my beliefs...time will tell...
I would never choose my beliefs over my own child!

OK! I am off my soapbox...

TTYL,

Thank you Star and JT for your wonderful comments about my mom. Yes, she was an incredible person and I consider it an honor to have been her daughter. We will always remember how someone made us "feel" and she left me with some great "feelings" 🙂

Star, I would be feeling the same way that you are about your daughters friends parents (did I say that right?) I feel that whenever we PUSH something onto someone they will surely go the other way. Why is it so hard for parents to appreciate and accept the uniqueness of their child/children and let them BE who they are? This is what kids today are fighting for, their independence and freedom to be accepted for themselves. This includes their thoughts, their actions and their decisions to grow and learn. When we come in and take over they then get the message that they are not valuable as they presently are...this also gives them the message that their parents do NOT accept them for who they are and what they believe. If they were accepted, this would be unconditional love....and then watch them BLOOM into themselves.

He will in one way or another discover who he is....it is all of our mission to do this. Maybe you are the one to offer him what he needs to proceed on the next path.

JT, I agree with your thoughts on religion...more harm is created by this "controlled" enviroment than anything else. I apologize if I have offended anyone, this is NOT my intention...just stating my observations. Some things work for some people and some don't. This is normal. (whatever normal is.....)

Star, what type of "soap" box are you on? I am on DIAL....cuz I am getting ready to "dial" up the next adventure!

My thoughts...well, I have read that whom ever we know in this life we have known in the past. For some reason we are connected again to face our lessons. Makes sense to me...what else would the purpose be for our existence if our lives were perfect? Nah, I enjoy meeting "freaks of nature" they so inspire me and most of the time I see myself in them 🙂 Ya know, I have 3 sisters that I have not seen in about 3 yrs. One of them has not communicated with us since then. I think that is weird...I also think it has something to do with the passing of my mom. Such is life. Have any of your friends been closer to you than your family memebers? I have had such wonderful friends that they are closer to me than my own sisters. I am just happy to be sharing life with the humans that allow me to come into their world. (they have no clue what to expect once I enter) 🙂 *snicker, snicker*

I look forward to hearing others theory on this too.....Gotta get into the freezer and eat the rest of the New York Choc. Ice cream ..... hmmmmmmmm I'm celebrating my life and what a special gift it is to be breathing!

Brrrrrrr cold shock!

i see what you're trying to say. But i think its different for every case... for me, i really dont care about my parents's opinions on me. I dont depend on their acceptance of me to go on with my life. Sometimes it does get fustrating because they try and impose their beliefs on me when its really not that useful.. i guess its the fear of "not getting through life" for parents these days. Asian parents are so hard to deal with at times... ESPECIALLY when i dont know KOREAN for butter lol. So its more like "wa wa wa?" "blah blah blah!!!---oh for treetrunk sakes." in their position when im trying to communicate with them... i do appreciate my parents a lot, i mean i have a roof over my head and stuff like that..but when it comes down to emotional support, theres none and thats OK. Because i can take care of myself. Teens have it hard nowadays but parents are human too. But if adults are planning to have kids..they should know all the outcomes and consequences on having one in the first place... if they're not going to support their kids then i dont see how they should want to have one.

Dear Freebird same ol! same Ol! I have four siblings two deceased. One I see once a year the other I have not seen nor do I know were she is. Its been over eight years. As for picking who you spend your life with I would pick my friends over family anytime. Nothing personal but I have been on my own seince 14 so I take friends. Den is big on reincarnation or as I say a fresh embodiment. I ask her how come everone she knows who says they lived before was always someone of import. If I lived before I was probably the village idiot.

Dear James....for some reason, I am having a difficult time visualizing you as the "village idiot". You are a very intellectual man for whom I am honored to correspond with as I am sure others are as well. Maybe you are an old soul who brings us wonderful wisdom to share.

Maybe God is a "universal being" no sexual preference....does anyone really KNOW——? I know that I don't.

Are "village idiots" fun to be with? I am noticing a lack of humor in the male species these days....no one wants to just let loose and be themselves....what is up with that? Oh, how boring.

You lov have come across the male ego. When I was in my late teens and early twenties I was MOCHOOOOOOOOOOOOO man. Now I am humor man just kidding. Young men do a lot of stupid things to impress WOMAN. I am to a point that I do not care who is impressed or who likes what I do. One of my most offensive sayings is look another idiot in surch of a village. I have had to become MOCHOOOOOOO man a few times for making that statement. Today I live one day and one drink at a time. The big differance between the welsh and americans I do not worry about tomorrow if I have enough to pay the rent have a drink for the rest of the week I am ahead of the game. I think not about retirement or what comes next. Ofcourse I have no responsibilitys Den and I do not live together. We stay with each outher a lot but that is a close to a responsibility as I have. Perhaps someday I will change who knows.

James, I love the way you spelled my name! It gives an added little 'thrill' at the end, as I believe that when there are 2 r's together in the Latin languages (or at least some of them...), they are rolled on the tongue...
I like it!

My sister remembers past lives where she and I and my other full-blooded sister were sisters...
My daughter also remembers past lives where we were connected, but, she says this is the first time that we have a parent/child relationship. She says we agreed on it.

I don't claim to know anything! I just enjoy the people I love whether I am related to them or not!
As far as the difficult people in my life who are related to me...specifically my parents and my half-sister...I do the best I can to communicate with them and hope that as time passes our relationships will improve. The important thing as far as I am concerned is NOT to let them drag down into the abyss...

Interesting about the difference between Welsh and Americans. I function on a day-to-day basis...but, I do also plan for the future...
I am leaving the message board. I just wanted to say that I had a lot of fun here...for the most part! LOL!

CB...I will never understand. I don't know if you are male or female...
I was shocked to find out that you are SuzyQ...and all those
