why are aquarians percieved as so negatively?

just wondered why this is the sign people seem to have issues with im an 21 yr old aquarius girl as as eccentric as i am i can also be shy at times and am definately not cold herted or distant quite the opposite......

Yeah, I know! It's like, almost everywhere I go on this message board, someone is always having an issue with one of our fellow aquarians, like we're up to no good. And people seem to think that I'm cold, hard, or mean, or that I may come off as being real snooty, and in control of everything, but I guess that's just my Leo rising. But I'm actually quite the opposite. I do like to talk to people, and I'm open to everyone and learning about everything. It's interesting though, 'cause I even heard a comment from somewhere that us Aquarians may be "cursed".

But now, when I come to think of it, the Aquarius side of me takes control, and I'm just tired and fed up with all of it. I'm tired of the rest of us being misuderstood, and I feel I don't have to explain myself to anybody. If you're okay with me, that's just fine. And if you're not, okay. Deal with it!

No matter what the charts say about me (taurus) not being compatible with whatever sign, I still try. I believe anything can work if both people want it bad enough. However, I believe I have swarn off aqua men forever. No more than friends anyway.
I have known many in my life and I have to admit they don't stray far from the script of their behavior. Unpredictable so you never quite know where you stand with them. They usually want to prove themselves after it dawns on them how badly they actually hurt someone who really cared about them. By then the other person tells them to go fly a kite! It has happened to me and my girlfriends..we are all like..NO MORE AQUA MEN EVER!! LOL

im an aquarius and although i can be independant etc,.. wen i meet someone who i like and am comfortable with i give them my all and go in with an open heart, ive never however been in a situation where the guy has been more into me than i was.. i think that would scare me a little... i get along well with a varity of signs no matter what traits they have, aquarius' are very friendly and from my experience aqua females love just as much as any other signs they may just no show it

Lol, beanie. That's where I'm different. The guys I have are almost more into me than I'm to them. I'm trying to innitiate friendship, or a close bond first, and they're like already saying "I love you," before they even know my name. And that's what gets them cut first. I can love my friends, and stuff, etc; but I feel I can't love a guy intimately, and actually say the words, unless we've been in this life or death situation where we stuck it out to the end, or when I know for a fact that when he says "I love you," he's forsaking all others, and he really means business with me--as long as I feel the same way too. 😄
Honestly, I'm trying to get better though, and defeat the stereotypes that plagues us all as being an Aquarius. Some people don't have to know me, for the rest that do, I'm gonna try to "get it right". Whatever that is.

hi beanie, embrace your Aqua side! express that Aqua girl! member we're great teachers n you have a lot to teach as well as learn. sadly, not everyone is quite into listening to others point of views or able to explain their reasoning which is why your stumped about all the bashing on our sign.
u don't have to explain or defend yourself because of when u were born. simply observe what others are writing - there is more there.
I agree w/u i am quite sesitive, eccentric, and very giving. We are extreme in feelings, like w/we're happy - we're extremely happy n w/we're sad well...
we cocoon ourselves away from the rest of the world.
hope others don't think i'm stirring up bad Aqua vibe - just proud of who i am n don't feel i have to explain my every thought, word, gesture to anyone. neither should u.

I'm Pisces, so I don't know what you all in here are feeling, but my mother was Aqua and one of my close friends - both have passed, but one of the things they had in common (among many) that I'll never forget and will cherish forever - is their sense of humor. Natural born comedians, they were and some people thought them to be odd or eccentric - but, that's not correct. Neither was odd - they just viewed the world differently than others - they found funny what most other people couldn't (or wouldn't). I see nothing wrong with Aquarians - it's the other people who just don't want to understand that they pretty much see the world as a big joke, because as my mother used to tell me:

crimsonnnn--tide-- question for you. Exactly where did you hear that Aquarians are cursed? That is a sad thought. I feel like I have 2 personalities. The eccentric, fun, artistic side. and than the side that wants to regulate, that doesnt want to hear anybody tell me what to do, and for me to be independent and attach myself. There doesnt seem to be any middle ground for me. I am sure that some of you feel the same. There is a side of me dieing to get out, the question is.... can I let it?

Yes... we should embrace all of our personality, but it isnt simple. it is hardly understandable in the first place

I was on a message board somewhere else where people were talking about social behaviours of Aquarius and who's crazier--Gemini or Aquarius, which I felt offended by at first, but I let the lighter side of me just laugh at it. One woman(who was a Gemini) replied that she thinks "it's a curse." I don't know whether she was referring to her being a Gemini and having a split personality and whatever, or being an eccentric, Aquarian, since both signs mostly get bad raps all the time. But I just wrote in my diary not too long ago about that comment. Maybe I'll post it up later. It'll be called, "Diary of a Pissed Off, Young Aquarian."

You are probably right about that, that it has nothing to do with the signs. Also being young, we are all dealt with the same kind of confusions. But I refuse to think that without generalizing my sign, I am able to read in to it and take what information it has to offer. If it is able to provide me with some kind of knowledge about me and the people around me, than I am all for it. thank goodness we are not all alone.

I wasn't saying that Aquarians were the only ones who felt that way. For all I know, anyone could feel like they're left out or "cursed" or whatever. It just seems to pop up more in this sign than in others. But I've let it go. I mean, I'm not gonna let what goes on in my life happen because of some comment one person made about this or that. I only want to grow more spiritually, and like I said before, try to "get it right."

hey aquas....no hard feelings....u do have ur specialities...
1. when someone comes for help aquas are ready anytime.even if they have to help at the expense of some misunderstanding or fight with others they'll do.
2.aquas have a big heart.everyone is welcome....
3.aquas have real charm.they can make any girl come to their feet....

I have an Aqua cousin. When I tell him my opninion about a particular topic and then ask back for his opinion, he doesnt talk! I dont know what is wrong. Aqua people should be talkative persons, but this one has something like big chains hanging on his mouth, preventing him talking. Sometimes I need to reask him 3 times before I get an answear. That makes him look cold. Just tell yes if you agree and no if you disagree, but not stay in silence! People will think always negative in this circumstance because you always look like ignoring them by doing like that.

I agree. They are excellent communicators about everything except their feelings. Let me clear that up..they will talk about feelings about work, politics, and other subjects. Just don't try to get them to talk about love!!! OY!!! Its painful!!
