Oh, the irony.....

I was scrolling through my facebook news feed this morning and what to my wondering eyes should appear, but an Aries meme. The interesting part about this one for me was the least compatible listing; Virgo and Scorpio. The two long term relationships I've had in my life were Scorpio for 10+ years and now Virgo for a little more than a year. Struck me as a little amusing this morning and I've been laughing about it all day. Typically the least compatible signs for Aries are listed as Cancer and Cap, I believe. So I'm just wondering how other Aries fare with the Virgos and Scorpios of the world.

I tend to get along with them more than most people.

I've always found that generalization really strange for me since I have a hard time tolerating the bs of Sag and Leo, yet they're all WOO YOUR BEST MATCH.

Gag.

Though I think I am a little in trouble with a Leo atm, but eh. Not allowing it to happen.

I agree with all the above on Leo. I dont feel that we were very compatible. There was too much of a power struggle between us.

I've never had anything romantic with a Sag, just a few female friends and we seem to get along pretty well.

Virgo and Scorpio are quincunx (inconjuct) to Aries...i created a thread on this on the astro board)...bascially it means they don't get each other and often the work involved between these signs is so challenging it often doesnt work out.

There is no compatibility in the quincunx as they are of incompatible elements. The elements are Fire Earth Air Water and the Modes (Cardinal Fixed Mutable) are also incompatible.. So just looking at the Aries-Virgo quincunx gives us an example of how this "odd" aspect explains much. Aries is Fire and Cardinal Mode. Virgo is Earth and Mutable Mode. Fire/Earth isn't really compatible. And Cardinal Mode (the starters of the zodiac) and Mutable Mode (the one that ties up loose ends) again have no compatibility. So we are left with nothing that is compatible.

This incompatibility causes much frustration and it is a frustration like having an itch that you just can't reach to scratch. Very frustrating. And that is how the quincunx operates in our natal chart. We have two planets with nothing in common and that is pretty darn frustrating because there is NOTHING that is compatible to happily bring them together. Let's use another example. Say you have a Taurus Venus quincunx a Libra Mars.Taurus is Fixed Earth Sign and Libra is Cardinal Air Sign. Taurus loves privacy and a comfy home with all the creature comforts that can be had. Libra is constantly looking for "another" as they focus on the back and forth of conversation and love relationships. So what is there in common? Again, not much. So this person would probably find relationships rather frustrating as there is this need for personal privacy trying to combine with the Libra need for others. So what happens next? Again, there is going to be some frustration in relationships as part of you wants to stay comfy in your home needing no one yet another part of you desires a partner in all that you do. See how incompatible the quincunx is?

How did you stay with a Scorp for over 10yrs? I was with an Aries for almost 5 and it was one of the most exhausting times of my life...we totally *misunderstood* each other a lot of the time

I was very young at the beginning of the relationship. I was naive that was my first real love. I was so sure it would last forever that I was willing to sacrifice my own happiness to make that happen. I never stopped caring about him, but I did finally realize that he wasnt the one for me. Our main peoblems centered around his jealous and untrusting nature toward me, but he was very secretive about his own life and expected that would be fine with me. I hold no grudges toward him. Looking back I see we were just a couple of goofy kids trying to hold on to something that we should have just let go.

I have noticed initial attraction of SOME sort, but in the long run? Omg no. :/

It sounds like your ex had double standards ( i recognize this in myself from the past and have had to address it). Was he unfaithful to you? Sometimes when people are mistrusting, its because they dont trust themselves

All signs point to yes, that he was unfaithful... and I do think that is why he was so mistrusting of me. But he did live a huge double standard. What was good for him, was most certainly not good for me.

With the Virgo, things have gotten better as time progresses (so far, so good) We had a few problems in the first couple of months we were dating. I think that was mostly due to not understanding eachother.
