Guessing people's signs

How good are you at guessing people's signs? I have been into astrology for a
long time and think I am fairly good but there is always room for improvement!

When I don't actually get the sign I often get the element: for example I have a
Taurus friend and before I knew what sign he was I guessed Capricorn. As it turns
out his birthday is May 12 so that is actually the Capricorn decan of Taurus
(and the day after my late father's birthday). Another recent example is that I
thought a guy was a Scorpio and his birthday turned out to be March 20 so that is
the Scorpio decan of Pisces.

Many years ago I guessed a certain woman's sign as Capricorn and it turned out
that she was a Virgo: as she clearly didn't know much about astrology she mocked
me for getting it wrong but Capricorn is not a bad guess for Virgo (and she may
have been Capricorn decan).

One time somebody tried to guess my sign and thought Libra: obviously I am not
but my ruling planet is in Libra so maybe that was something to do with it.

for me it's moon signs even though it's considered more "hidden"
Taurus sun is really easy for me to guess for some reason.

You bring up a really good point actually.
When I first joined DXP and started looking into astro in general, I used to assume since I was the only one into this stuff at parties I would ace it most of the time...
But my guesses were always off. Who knew? Yes, I'm a novice compared to some old hands on here.
Lots of laughs and pseudo astro guesses later, I now realise I was picking- as you say, decans, risings, moons, other features most of the time.
It's so complex and just proves how varied astrology can be amongst people. Not just what's on paper/chart.

I only guess the ones that seem like people I know well astrologically and personally.

But Im more a math/science guy, and what I want to do is guess RISING with UNKNOWN Birth time.

Nothing is impossible, I learned this from a person who doesnt remember he always said that in older times.

Of course I cant do it only scientifically, but with all the Astrological Background on interpretation.
