I was re-watching a great french comedy called "The Visitors" and it came to me then... What women want from a man--no, it's not money or someone to care for them...
I can't speak for all women -- I know this but I can relate to one sentiment all women have so what a woman wants from a man is chivalry. Yes, chivalry. A real man who can stand up to all the aversities in life--be it a bully, a nasty neighbor, a mean boss, a mugger about to snatch your purse--you know what I mean. A guy with a spine! One who shows bravado and means it, with out trying to impress. Watch Jean Reno in the Visitors and you'll know what I mean..
Tee hee hee James--good one. Never thought of that but no, Jean Reno PRONOUNCED ZHAN REE-NO, is a famous french actor--he was in the Big Blue and The Specialist (??). A viral, sexy man. He's just an example.
CORRECTION: Okay, after sifting through the IMDB, Jean Reno was not in the Specilalist, he was in a film called the Professional. You may remember him in Mission Impossible (1st one) and Ronin.
I know what you are saying I saw him in ronin with robert denero and in the perfessionals. ask your self what do men want from a good woman besides ass.
they want devotion, trust, intelligence, sense of humor, class, and most of all: knows how to understand men, or actually listens.
women who understand and yet firmly straight out tell men what they are thinking in their minds are winners since men want everything 'white and black' 'straightfoward' no secrets.
Well shoot! Why the hell don't I have a boyfriend? I tell it like it is--no hidden agenda with me, no sir-eee. I'm very straightforward--I hate it when someone isn't upfront with you. They say yes when they really mean "no". A lot of women tend to do this but I think one quality that all men want in a woman is discretion. Being able to keep a secret.
depends on what 'secret' you're talking about, i'm talking about feelings on a particular situation because i dont think any man likes women throwing tamptrums and bringing up stuff that was in the past, women are like computer files, we save and never forget, then we explode.
Yeeeppp, ya got that right. But just general discretion--knowing when to keep a tight lip about things that are personal or financial. That sort of thing.
just wondering since you seem dissapointed at the fact that you dont have a boyfriend..lol anyway, dont know whats up with that subject but be happy ^^
I HAD a boyfriend and like everyone else in relationships--it dissapated, although amicably. No big deal. Why do I get a strong impression that you are judging me? (Another female trait)
errrrrr lol no. I'm not judging you, i dont know how that brought up but it seems like you're making assumptions because of something that might(keyword here: might) be troubling you these days so that is why my statement made you question?(another female trait: over analyzing or i might be right). Anyway, and i never said you didnt have a boyfriend, just thought you needed to 'talk' about it since you were putting so emphasis on not having one. Se la vi!
Actually, both of you agree. Sloan believes in keeping things private, between 2 people, no public laundry. I also like the traits you mention Luz, "class, devotion, and actually listening". It's true, as compared to women, men want it spelled out. We're also very visual, whereas women are much more emotive. (I did not say "emotional".)
Well Luz, it's the way you question or the way or style of your responses. They sort of rubbed me the wrong way a bit. If you went back and read what you wrote, it comes across as a bit inquisitive and/or judgemental. For example...you wrote
"just wondering since you seem disappointed at the fact that you don't have a boyfriend..lol"
I idea that you added the "lol" gives me an impression of slight meanspiritedness. Or, and I can be openminded to mistakes, perhaps you were just trying to be facitious?
I thought you're post made this thread really thoughtful sloane!..I like your style ..😉I've never really known what I'd wanted in a man in the past, but I always knew that whenever the right guy came along, i'd just know-by intuition?? 🙂If that makes any sense.. I guess.. i don't know.. what I want in a man right now..is just a deep first friend in whom I can unqestionably trust, and who'd be supportive of the way I feel sometimes too.. someone who'd be really open and honest with the relevant details, not just the mindless ones..someone who's fun and sweet, and doesn't mind my quirks..😄 am i making any sense?? thought i was making too many demands again..
but sometimes you just can't lose with being really clear about your expectations... I've been told before that I expect the unexpected (the impossible) so much.. but i just have so much hope that it is possible.. I don't think this is being unreasonable... you be the judge..
whoa..just went back and read all of the posts this time..there is no pun or hidden agenda in my posts against either of you (sloane and luz).. picked up the thread as it was in the beginning..just wanted to clear stuff up in case anyone's wondering...ok..i'm nuts now 😛
No sloane you were right, thats all men want, I can tell you. When I am in the pub if a woman is around we talk sports. No woman in sight we talk big tits, we are crazy about them , we dream about them, when you see us with a book we are not reading we are thinking about them ./ you got us , you hit it on the head.

I've had some real doozies this month and some blow-ups with freinds and colleagues. Jobs fell thruogh, money lost...how is eveyone coping? Have stories to tell? It'll be over pretty soon!
I think he's definately guilty. Reporters mentioned as of late that a tarp and some tools were found in his truck after he went boating. Gee, I wonder what he needed those for....
But what does anyone else think? This story has gone AP and is nat
Just want to give you a heads up about Mercury retrograding again. It will start April 21 and last till May 20th so don't sign any important papers or make big life changing decisions until a week after May 2oth. There are effects of
With the onset of the Academy awards and the independent Spirit awards coming up, there has been so much hype yet there seems to be MORE award shows created just to honor people in entertainment and it's just downright irritating...I mean, why are we real
Okay fess- up who has had the wandering eye, and who has acted out on it, or wanted to act out on it> i know that I am not alone on this one... lolz... damnit>> those eyes just won't stay put!!!
In some instances, I like being a Libra but then, there are some qualities that I wish I had in which some signs are disposed of..such as Scorpio and Capricorns--I wish I had thier money-making abilities. And popular like a Leo.
Sloane, I'm wondering if you can answer a few questions for me about screenwriting and the related processes. If i remember correctly, you said you had a completed script...?
Okay.. I've gotta vent this 'cuz I don't know if it's me or just people in general having an inner motive to not return something so simple such as an E-mail!! What's wrong with people who work in front of a freakin' computer all day and don't have th
You are oh-so-elegant and tasteful to the point of incurring nausea from loved ones. You are also bipolar as hell and can't make a decision on your own. You usually consult your therapist or TV Guide.
Am I alone in this thought? Because recently, I was driving around here in La La land, seeing billboard after billboard--ad after ad for new films that just know are going to suck--OR--they'll just be "Okay"--you know, mediocre--nothing to write home abou
To my fellow librans, the books quite often say we're lazy. Do you find yourselves to be innately lazy? Eg. Mentally, emotionally or physically? I find i am lazy at times. Sometimes it's mentally and other times it's emotionally. For example, if i
