I love the Harry Potter books too.... I don't think I'll find another fiction set I'd enjoy as much. But I just finished reading Empress and The Lady Elizabeth. Empress has some very graphic stuff in it, but if you can deal with that all in all it's a good story. It's historical fiction about China's only female emporer. The Lady Elizabeth is mainly fact with the author's musings on a few of the mysteries that surrounded the life of Queen Elizabeth I.

You should read the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. It's seriously brilliant. High fantasy, with such enormous scope, real epic stuff. Ignore the fact that the beginning seems to be based on LOTR. It is better than that. You have 11 books so far, and the last one will be released next year. It's one of those series that you have to read again and again to get everything from it, and even then you don't know all that has happened. There are massive online forums dedicated to nothing but theories on which character did what and why. So, you not only get to enjoy the series many, many times, but you also get to enjoy it away from the books too.

Seriously, you should really check it out.
