This is so true. I remember a lot, and the excellent memory means I won't fall for the same tricks, and if some back stabbing lowlife that I used to call a friend tries to ass kiss her way back into my good graces, it won't happen. It also means that if I'm close to someone, I keep a mental tab of repeat bad behavior and eventually cut the ties, and my losses, with no looking back.
It's funny, though, that when no one sees the walking away coming, that they thought all along they had you fooled, that you didn't know what they were like. Then they rant and rave about how "cold and ruthless" you are for calling them on their crap and making a decision to not put up with it any longer.
