Erm, no problem whatsoever. I just found it slightly endearing, amusing and typical of the Cancerian sign. Thought it might make for a lighthearted change of topic. Any other crabs/crabettes attached to their stuff?

The irony is I have Cancerian Rising, so we will probably end up in a silly tug-of-war with us both clutching a shoe! This might be the last time he lends me anything.

If he likes you he won't care. If he likes you he'll let you have or borrow his things. Cancers like things. They like very nice and expensive things. They like giving expensive and shiny things to people they care about. So I wouldn't say there's a problem. He probably likes you having his shoes. And don't EVER reject something that a cancer gave u especially if it's expensive and shiny. Even the non expensive and shiny things they give means a hell of a lot. All their giving of things comes right from the heart so if you deny them or reject them or give it back and make a big deal out of it they will be hurt and give less until they don't look out for you then you'll be wondering what happened to his sweetness. They like expensive and shiny but they also aren't materialistic people. Love comes before things so just relax and don't mess it up and make a problem out of nothing
