Crab man never ever smiles at me

Hi,
What does it normally mean when a cancer male doesn't smile at you ever (i.e just stares at you eye to eye, talks to you etc. but never ever smiles)? Always looked serious when we were "dating", although by texts, he seemed super keen to meet up, very interested etc. and is very talkative once you get to know him but never smiles at me!

Even now, (no longer together), but sometimes bump into him in public somewhere, he looks me straight in the eyes but we don't say anything to each other and then he casually texts me in a jokey way later on in the end, mentioning he had seen me, what I was doing etc.

BUT with other people (from what I've seen girls who he is only friends with - he's often quite smiley when he talks to them.

Also, saw a photo of him with an ex (she looks very similar to me) and he isn't smiling in that pic either

If he smiles it will create a rip in the Space-Time Continuum so he's tasked with the forever heavy burden of never moving his facial muscles.

I just think you must literally take his breath away and he's unable to smile because he's preserving all of his energy to breath. That takes a hell of a lot of concentration to breathe and smile at the same time. The very next time you bump into him attempt to give him mouth to mouth and see if that stimulates his respiratory system enough to allow him to smile. Cancer men are so complex!
