As you can see by the links provided, Cancer guys are known to play disappearing acts

So how long have you disappeared for? months,a year or years?
you may provide any info about these disappearing acts.
I dont understand it. I usually like to talk out my issues with my significant other.

The cancer guy I was with refuses to talk to me but reads every single message that was sent. Im a very forgiving patient person to people I care about. But once you push me too far,RIP youre dead to me.

I thought it was me and my isolated situation. However,I read and heard from soooooo many people that this is common with Cancer men( dunno about women).
When you ignore someone who isnt your enemy I feel its passive aggressive. I feel that there is manipulation going on.
Heck even if you cussed out and yelled..at least you show some type of emotion. However this indifference is really hurtful.
I dont understand how women can take back a cancer man who has ignored her and disappeared on her.
My main fear in life is abandonment, once you take away my sense of security...than I have a hard time forgiving you.

Well Cancers aren't the only ones who pull a disappearing act, quite a few other signs do the same shit. But when a Cancer is fully out of shell in love, and everything is going well, he would never pull that move.

Well there are disappearing acts and then there's a cooling period. The cooling period is much shorter and occurs agree you've done something to really piss us off. Disappearing acts last much, much longer - sometimes indefinitely. Now, I've never disappeared on a significant other, but I've done it multiple times with friends. I'm a bit of a loner, and friendships just aren't that important to me. When friends smothered me, that's when I'd disappear. Normally it's forever, but in one case it lasted about 10 years. We're friends again, but not as close, so I have plenty of breathing room.
I'd say, most of the time, when a Cancer disappears from a significant other - males especially - it's either because they're cowards or they just flat out do not care. Here's the difference: when they do care about you and can't face you when they know they're gonna leave, they disappear because they're afraid and feel guilty. When they don't care if they hurt you or not, they'll leave without a single word and that's that. They've moved on without giving you a second thought.

Good input! but you said "if you have done something to piss us off". What if the other party didnt know the caliber of what they said or did.
May you elaborate on something? they disappear on a girl they love because of guilt? why cant they break up with her face to face or at leas ton phone. They seem to "Fade out" and hope you get the hint.
When a cancer leaves,is it forever? especially if its because of something petty and you apologized like crazy

Keep in mind that anything we say about Cancers is general, and not meant to be specific toward any one Cancer. Now, to answer your questions: "the caliber of what they said or did" is irrelevant. If you do or say anything to hurt or anger a Cancer, they want you to know and need time to calm down, so you'll get the silent treatment for awhile. I didn't say they'd leave someone they love and feel guilty, I said in the instance that they disappear but still CARE about you, they have decided they want out but can't face you either because of guilt or cowardice. Sometimes it's forever, sometimes it isn't. There are many variables that those scenarios depend on.

Like I originally said, the silent treatment or cooling period is shorter: a few days, maybe a week. Depends.

You should read my thread "Allow me to shed some light on Cancer behavior." It gives great detail that will help you understand how many Cancers people come here to ask about work. If you're involved with a Cancer like the type I wrote about, it'll give you an idea of what to do.
